Ok I have read up a few posts about this, and am curious as to how you know when you find your guide? I mean I could summon someone who I think is my guide but in actual fact is just a DC? How will I know? Would I need to meet this someone several times? Would I need to ask certain questions?
Any help from those who have met there's would be good :)

I'm not very adept when it comes to dream guides, but I will tell you from personal experience be very wary of who you trust as your dream guide. I've been fooled by a old lady, of all people, that she was my dream guide.
After I met up with her, she made a complete confusion (for lack of a better word) out of the rest of my dream. I honestly had no idea which part was real and which part wasn't a dream.

In my opinion, a dream guide is whoever you want it to be. I'm a very open-minded person, but I don't believe 100% that dream guides are your actual subconscious. My belief is that it's just a DC that you make smarter and wiser, but when I have good-awareness LDs, I'm going to find my dream guide. Even if it isn't really your subconscious or some kind of spiritual being, it would still be interesting to form a relationship with a DC and ask him/her some of life's burning questions.Quote:

My advice would be, not to get to tied up on words, names and titles, if you can find someone who is reliably helpful to you in your dreams then make the most of them.

I actually asked a DC last night if he was my Dream Guide. I'd never seen him before so I had lingering doubts. At first, he said he was then he gave me the 'ole "psyche" thing where he said he was just joking :huh:
But, really, a Dream Guide is just a dream character whom you feel you can trust. Ask them then accept their guidance if they claim the title. Your Dream Guide is simply a comfortable form of your own mind. A Dream Guide knows everything you know, even things you don't realize that you know or think you've forgotten(tacit knowledge).
ok, im with you and would like to know this too. ive been having some not very good experiences finding my dream guide.. the first time i tried looking for mine. i met a lady, who seamed very nice at first..soon turned out not to be someone id want even in my dreams.. there were a couple of other times where i know it was just DC claiming to be my DG.. the last night.. last night. i dont know what to think of... i had my very first wild..where i woke to my dream so to speak in my bed..and floated through my closed window and into my amazing dream. i decided straight away to ask for my dreamguide. and nothing.. (as usual) i had a very long lucid last night,and everytime i woke and went back to sleep. id go back to this same continuing dream and back to being lucid. i soon met a DC. and asked him about my dreamguide. he was telling me my dreamguide didnt want to guide me. i then asked him if he could be my dream guide as he was really nice, helpfull..and also cute. but he said he couldnt. i decided to yell out to my so called dreamguide i was so angry coz he didnt want to guide me. and told him to come and tell me why atleast.. a note for me appeared. saying i was a "enter some non english word" or aka. a DC basher and he wanted nothing to do with me. ( which i really didnt understant at all). sooo i dont know if it was true..or just more of my evil DC's tricking me as usual
so do we all have a DG??? or do some people just have them.....? maybe i dont need one ..i dont know..but then my dream got more interesting.... i was kind of living with this family in my dream....and.. i fell in love(in this very short time...and still being lucid) with one of my DC's. like i had full on feelings for him it was crazy..could he maybe be my DG? ive heard of people having weird feelings for their dreamguides.. so i dont know... just putting it out there maybe someone has some insight for me?
I have tried looking for mine before. Bah, what a waste of time. I'm going to learn how to LD more and better and then I'll teleport right next to him.
