      Lucid Dream Recall

I have had many many lucid dreams in my short time of studying the subject and I always remembered each and every one vividly, and I never forgot any of them until just recently, whenever I had a lucid dream the day I had it I would post it in my dream journal online as soon as I could. Then, I decided I would post only interesting and long lucid dreams online in my lucid journal, which severely dropped my lucid dream recall, I would completely forget about the previous nights lucid dreams until the subject was brought up the next day. Then, I stopped posting lucid dreams all together for a week or two and that has severely dropped my lucid dream recall, maybe only 4-5 a week. Now this was an experiment on my part to learn the effectiveness of dream journals in your lucid dreaming endeavors, basically I wanted to prove and over stress the importance of dream journals, be they online or not, and for those of you that just try to lucid dream, and have no dream journal, there is always the chance that you had one and forgot about it because of poor recall. Discuss the effects you think disregarding a dream journal can have on lucid dreaming. I thought I would post this here since my level of lucid dream recall basically shattered, and wanted to hear your thoughts on the matter, and to get everyone who has not started a dream journal, to start one because I believe it is necessary.

yes thats very true, my dream recall has gotten very bad in the past month, because i am getting up to early in the morning and i know i have to go straight to work and it a 1 hour drive everyday even more. But i think if you want to lucid dream you need a dream journal, so you can read over your dreams and remember them, so i do agree that are very important and your dream recall does go down alot if you dont use one.

Yeah, I totally agree. I find even though my dream recall when I stop a DJ is still goodish because I am aware of my dreaming, it is still vastly reduced compared to when I keep a DJ.

Whether I am keeping detalied or non detailed DJ it is still nice to look back on the dream, then sometime it sort of flicks a switch in your memory and it's like 'Oh yeah, I remember that dream' and the dream comes back to you.

By the way, do you use your DEILD technique to get the awesome consistency of 5 LD's a week?

My 99% technique is my DEILD technique, it's in attaining lucidity and a research topic is in the research section. Yes I use DEILD to get a majority of my lucid dreams, other than that they are DILD. I need to start a DJ again since I haven't had a lucid in the last few days and that's weird, I don't want to lose the ability
Also I rarely remember any dreams, only one or two before I wake up that day.
