Some of the answers to life after death floating on some astral plain for us to pick up on.

Have you guys ever heard of the Akashic Records? It's pretty much what you just described only rather than some of the answers to life after death it's rumored to contain all knowledge of human experience and the history of the cosmos. Pretty much information on everything that has ever happened, been thought, or ever existed. And rather than just floating around on the astral plane, its supposed to be organized in some sort of library like fashion. You kinda have to believe in astral projection for this sort of thing, but I totally keep an open mind about it. One of my main reasons for experimenting with lucid dreaming and the power of the human mind. I mean just think, how cool would it be if the records truly existed, and one was able to access them somehow after becoming I don't know, let's say enlightened (for lack of a better term) through the process of lucid dreaming or something... The possibilities are endless.

Sorry that was totally off subject. Now on the topic of lucid suicide, I can't say that I have tried it, because at this point I'm specifically working on my dream recall rather than actually becoming lucid (what's the point if I can't remember it right?) But I can say with confidence that I will be doing this one day. Why not? I just see it as another phenomenon of life that lucid dreaming will allow me to experience with no repercussions.

It's not something you can't do in real life....so if anyone has the guts they'd do it for real. But Y do it in a dream unless the person has depression.

When I was playing in the state, I would often play a segment twice, once as victor and once as looser--yes to let myself be killed. I like to look at both sides.

But as far as killing the self--only a person who has no idea of what they want to accomplish in their life would do that.

There are two categories of accomplishments in life--those that cannot be done without a mate, and those that can, but one feels should not be.

I for one believe that everything should be done with one's mate--even though I have never found one that had any real depth of interest in anything. Been a sad life, but, we all die sometimes and the longer we live the more we can get done that we wish to get done.

I shot myself in the head once. My friend was chasing me down this hallway and I stopped abruptly, took out a pistol and pointed it first at him, and then at my head. I knew I shouldn't do it, but I just pulled the trigger anyway. I fell to the ground and felt a surge of euphoria and warmth. I saw the blood shooting out of my head and getting on my friends shoes and then I died. I just was there. Nothing else. Just there.

it seems to me that you can't easily die in dreams. your mind just doesn't want to. for example i was being shot at, but i saw the bullets in the air and dodged them. also, if i don't think i can survive then i wake up from adrenaline before dying.

Anyway, yes, have killed myself in dreams before, not that hard really, unless you are afraid of death.

That is a VERY good thing because emotions are IMMENSELY INTENSIFIED in dreams... especially fear. So as soon as one thought of doubt gets in your head your brain would go into defense mode (that's where adrenaline comes in).

Not sure how I would kill myself in a dream... No point in jumping off a building, since I can fly. If I decide not to fly I'll simply land on the ground unhurt. And bullets dont hit me. Maybe summon a KILL SELF button?

I died few times in my dreams and I felt great while dieing. Anyway I never done suicide in my dreams, but I want to do it. I'm expecting to wake up as I kill myself.

I've never tried it, but I do remember reading some task of the month or something where someone ate dynamite in their dreams... if I remember correctly they ended up becoming a sort of "ghost" and watched their exploded body.

I say make sure its a lucid dream before trying!
many time in a non-lucid I suicided or fell five floors. Most of the time I wake up, once i dreamt I had to jump down from my balcony and I survived but in my dream I had missed like 10 dream hours recovering. once I fell and it didnt hurt at all and I just lay on the ground for a while.

once I was shot in a war dream and became a ghost.
what is challenge of the month anyway?
being a ghost was really depressing.

I've tried so many times, it all fails:
I can't drown myself,
I survive jumps from 20 stories,
I stab myself, and end up walking around with a big hole in my stomach,
I shoot myself, and end up walking around with a big hole in my head,
I even stood on a landmine and just got catapulted away.

Underwater...try an atomic bomb. Also, you need to expect to die. If you don't expect death to come, then you'll probably have the problem of being unable to die.

My mistake nina, thanks.

Because you are technically invincible in dreams it can be hard to die. Normally falls from even small heights wake me up though. If you think in your mind that you are not going to die chances are you wont.

I'll copy something that I wrote in a similar thread because it applies here

When I was little and naive. I used to have lucids all the time, but no control and no matter how hard I tried I could never wake myself up. So I always resorted to killing myself and that was guaranteed to wake me up.

It's defenitly a strange feeling, but it made me wake up inside another lucid dream.

I killed myself in a non lucid a long time ago..
For some reason I was shooting some people and after a while I decided to shoot myself to avoid getting caught by police
Put the gun to my head and pulled the trigger. I still remember that my head felt really cold and light. I started falling towards ground.. at that time i thought "what will my mom think" and regretted that I killed myself. I remember hitting the ground, vision fading, then waking up.
I was really really happy, you could say euphoric after realizing that it was just a dream
