I suppose that's possible, however, I hardly ever dream with red skies, rubber trees, etc. and I don't have any trouble with lucidity.

It's much more likely that you are trying to constitute reasons for your lack of LD's, which is basically like telling yourself that it's impossible to LD.

As soon as you truly stop throwing up roadblocks, you will find it much easier to LD.

Good luck, and I hope you have your LD soon!

Have you heard the gypsy hymns in the odd hours of the night?

It's possible that you have more trouble to LD than other people because you have realistic dreams, but that's no reason to give up yet. Just keep doing RC's and keep trying. You'll have one eventually - just don't give up!

Personally, I'm the same as you. My dreams tend to be very boring and normal with no signs of anything you wouldn't find in regular waking life.

My dreams can have nothing out of the ordinary and I'll still realize when I'm dreaming. I don't use dreamsigns, but reality checks would help.

Me to 90% of the time my dreams are just as you would expect reality to be, it can be day or night, the moon will be out, the sun will be out the sky will be blue. Exactly how you would expect reality to be with the exception of there being a greater amount of detail present in the dream.

So I don't think your dreams being like reality is the problem.

what time do you guys/girls recommend me?
but ontopic again: how can i tell my dreams or my self to say LD is possible?
you said something about Roadblocks how can i remove them in my head etc?

Don't stress out too much over dream recall, it takes time. Keep doing what you're doing.

About your sleeping pattern: try putting up a sheet over your window, or whatever it is that is waking you. I sleep from 3AM to 1PM, and found that after a couple days, you can go on sleeping normally even with sunlight. Your time should be fine, but taking it back a couple hours wouldn't hurt.

To get rid of 'roadblocks,' I would suggest repeating a phrase, like, "I will have a lucid dream" before sleeping. The brain is very susceptible to suggestion. Also, I find it's helpful to sort of think up a list of things you will do in your next lucid (even if it's the first.)

This might seem contradictory to everything I suggested, but try not to make LD'ing into a great feat. I've found that a lot of people seemed to make it seem a monstrous challenge before they even LD, (including me). Once you shrug that off and relax, you may find smoother sailing.

      Again, good luck!

well if this is true you can use it to your advantage. If you're starting to dream about more normal things then maybe reality checks might work better because you'd have more things in common between your dreams and reality so the RCs would tie in better. if that makes any sense at all

I hardly ever realize that I'm dreaming when I see flying elephants or purple trees. When I catch a dream sign, it is usually something much more subtle... like, a piece of furniture tilted at an awkward angle, or a person speaking differently than they normally would.

According to Stephen LeBarge, inducing lucid dreams is rare unless you can remember at least one dream per night. So, I'd say just keep trying really hard to improve your recall. Also, don't get too excited about your first Lucid. Sometimes firsts are wonderful experiences... lots of the time they are short/boring/too blurry.

Bit of a newbie here but just thought I would add my $0.02...

If you are looking for a way to help improve dream recall or induce a lucid dream I would really recommend the HILD tutorial found here. I have read in other posts that some people really found this helps and I am not sure how related the events are but I did the HILD tutorial on Friday night and had my first Lucid this morning (not sure if this was the HILD or an accidental WILD however).

I think this would be especially good for yourself as, if I understand the technique correctly, you are getting yourself into a state where you communicate with your subconscious essentially tell it that you will LD and this may help if you are starting to feel it’s impossible.

Also, as others have said, try not to put too much pressure on getting an LD. Just keep working on your dream recall and know that if you keep trying it WILL happen eventually. If you are really struggling with dream recall try setting an alarm during your REM period (4-6 hours into sleep I think) as you may recall the dream better if you wake up during it (only try this if you are confident you are getting enough sleep at night and maybe go to sleep a bit earlier to compensate for the interrupted sleep). Be sure to keep a pen and paper handy to write down the dream right away.
