      Many DILD's - Why?

I've just returned from my Aunt's cottage in Perth, Ontario by a lake. It's quiet, pastoral, you can't see a single neighbor if you look all the way down the dirt road (which is itself very hard to see from the cottage.)

All in all, it was a quiet time, and I got to thinking about something I had forgotten about. I had forgotten about Lucid Dreaming. I found, as I thought more and more, that I still understood the science, the techniques, and it was just that I had stopped trying for lack of success (a classic move for a beginner, I guess.)

In 3 days, I had 2 DILD's, very long. I know that DILD's are among the hardest types of lucid dream to "will" into existence (as in, it is much easier to LD when you set your mind to it using WILD's, for example), so I know it could not have been that I had them on purpose...

Other than LD's being on my mind during these few days, what could have caused so many LD's in such a short time?

      "Gemcrum was sleeping.
      Crumgem as well.
The pallbearers lowered their bodies to hell.
Their shirtcuffs and beardroughs in morbid disarray,
The Brothers Crumm silent on their funeral day."

Hey, congrats on the two DILDs, i think the reason you easily induced them was because you were in a peacful and tranquil place with no worries, you were relaxed and had no stresses, and the power of suggestion and having lucid dreaming on the mind can easily induce some lucid dreams.

      Thanks. You're both probably right.

Nothing had changed as to my outlook, but last night, returned to the city, not only was I not lucid, I couldn't remember any of my dreams once awake. What do I do? I can't just up and move to the country, but this isn't unusual for me (it isn't unusual that I should not remember any of my dreams.)

Maybe I just need to "practice" more...?

When on vacation, I had 4 DILDs.

I became lucid every time I went to my house and thought "Hey, I'm on vacation!" So perhaps its the same thing for you.
While there is a lower class, I am in it.
While there is a criminal element, I am of it.
While there is a soul in prison, I am not free.

When returning to a more active and daily routine in your life in the city like you said things can put pressure on you and these thoughts may be dominating lucid dreaming more than you actually think thus not allowing you to remember much, my suggestion is to work on your dream recall, just put out the intention to remember your dreams, write a dream journal and keep a record of everything you remember and things will pick up. Good Luck
