      Digital Watch and Lucid dreams

I juts bought a digital watch to use for reality checks. Throughout the day I look at the time look away and look at it again to see if anything changes. I think this is a good reality check.

My question is if anyone reading this uses a digital watch for a reality check and how well does it works. Thanks

I dont use one, but one thing I have learnt when doing an RC is try not to trply on something you have to ensure is available at the time.

For example, writing and clocks you have to make sure they are in your dream.

Where as putting your finger in your hand or holding your nose you can do without needed anything to appear in your dreams.

Having said that, I'm sure it will work fine if you have a watch in your dream

I had done that for a while and so for it to work in your dreams it has to be with you a lot like become part of your daily routine, because if you are not wearing a digital watch in a dream i don't think it is going to help you very mcuh do you see what I am saying?

So if the DW became part of your life than yes I would think that it could become a good reality check.

I'd say that the point of practicing RCs is so that you can get into the habit of constantly questioning your reality. If you're just looking at your watch to look at your watch, it might not work so well. However, if you're training yourself to look at your environment differently, you can use your watch for verification.

Sometimes just doing an RC will cause you to become lucid, but that's usually not the case. It just depends.

Digital clocks are good for determining whether or not you're dreaming if you have any doubts. Personally, I don't use watches or clocks for reality tests. In fact, I don't do reality tests. The most efficient lucid dreaming tool, for me, is to have a constant awareness of my surrounding area while I'm awake. The reason for this is that once you know what's going on around yourself, you'll be able to spot little oddities that are all too common in dreams.

Ahh yes, the digital watch RC. Personally, it's the only RC I use. I always wear a digital watch...whether I'm taking a shower, working, sleeping or anything else. I feel naked without a watch. Because I wear my watch literally 24/7, I have always had a watch on in my dreams. Or maybe I should say it like this: I have never noticed me not wearing a watch in a dream, which in itself would be a good RC, heh.

I've always liked to know what time it is, even before I knew what lucid dreaming was; so for me, it just fits. On top of intentional reality checking, I will look at my watch 20 or so times a day just to check what time it is. That's just free reality checks right there my friend. Also, every time I have done a digital watch RC in a dream, I have become lucid (that I remember).

AdamA and Brandon are right, if you don't wear the watch ALL THE TIME, then the digital watch RC could fail you. If you don't have a water-proof watch (I don't know why you wouldn't...) or especially if you take it off before going to sleep, then when you're dreaming and don't have it on, you might just think: "Oh, I forgot to put my watch on this morning" or whatever. But if you're seriously thinking about using the digital watch RC as your main RC, you should be wearing it 24/7 anyway.

Basically, I find it the most reliable RC of them all, easiest to perform, and it's handy to have a watch on anyway right? :^D

That's really what it's all about. View your environment in a new light.
