      mundane.

So amidsst much dream recalling and attempts at lucidity, I've realised from reading all your accounts and journals how boring my dreams are.

You all seem to either have super powers or be in a crazy place. Or even somewhere you don't know.

Mine [when NOT lucid] are pretty much just events that could happen easily in life. Last night I had a dream dedicated to finding a twenty pound note by searching through the pockets of my jeans. Fun.

Night before I had one about sorting my CD collection alphabetically.

does anyone else have these or are you all blessed with action filled sex romps of alien dreams?

From what I've seen, most people (including myself) usually have pretty normal dreams.

Recently I've tried to start daydreaming of more interesting things than I dream of, and so far, it's helped quite a lot. I know how much of a drag it is reading about other people's EPIC JOURNEYS.

As we age, it seems we stop exercising our imaginations. You didn't dream about CD-sorting when you were younger, did you? :p
Have you heard the gypsy hymns in the odd hours of the night?

would you considered yourself a creative person? in real life do you do "exciting" things or really alphabitize your CD collection? Maybe try adding more adventure into the real world and see what happens in the dream world.

      Or take some drugs lol

      I'm 16

I suck at maths and science and stuff.

      I'm really messy.

and I consider myself incredibly creative, like, I do loads of mad art and practically am in love with David Lynch as well writing loads of fantasy short stories.

I have done drugs, but certainly not regularly whatsoever.

I'm really not a boring person and my real life is far more interesting than most of my dreams.

      that really shouldn't be.

But when i went a bit control lucid ish I took myself to nazi Germay. Hooray.

Well I find that with many people, dreams are a reflection of thoughts in the subconscious. Things that are in your heart as opposed to what's actively in your mind. I have an exciting life, but my non lucid dreams are usually very very strange and mostly exciting. I dream about having powers, because when I was a kid, I always wished I could be a superhero and save everyone and make the world happy.

To an extent, that wish is still and always will be in my heart, in whatever form it takes on, and therefore will also quite likely be in my dreams. As for you, you have to discover what is in your heart. In your subconscious. It may not be true for everyone, but I believe most people dream about things going on in their life that are having an impact on their heart and/or subconscious.

In any case, learn to appreciate each dream as a wonderful thing. Appreciate the fact that your mind is working! It's a beautiful thing, the human mind. Never take any dream for granted. When you learn to fully appreciate your dreams as they are, you will find that they will take a different turn, for the better.

      I hope this helps ya.

Don't be fooled by the word, and don't be fooled by the thought.

Other people are other people. They think diferently from you. Their creativity is different. Maybe what's new and unusual for you is boring to them. Always have that in mind.

Also, some things cannot be described properly in language as we know it. Something vivid and colourful for me might be something uncolourful to you.

In my dreams, for example, I can watch my mind working in different ways. When I speak, I don't speak in words, and I usually don't know the language it was (I speak 3 languages). But when writing a dream journal I put it into words according to the language the journal is... so I'm pretty much translating thoughts into words (just like you do daily in order to speak - you will know the sensation better if you have taken a foreign language and tried to speak in it)

So don't be fooled by language in dream journals. Most people will make their dreams seem more magical than they really are.

Finally, take some days off. Stress can make you mentally tired and that WILL make your dreams boring
