Hi,
I just learned today about what exactly lucid dreaming is and I was wondering, do you dream while you have a 1 hour nap? Since you have an REM cycle every 90 minutes would 1 hour be enough time to have a dream?

depends on how much sleep you had the night before...I've dreamt while napping..but my naptime dreams are usually freakier/more unusual than my night-time dreams
I've noticed something similar. I sometimes take a nap in my car for my lunch break at work, and I have had some strange dreams. What makes them a little more freaky is that they tend to include me driving my car somewhere so I think that I'm really driving my car while I'm asleep so it sometimes can be a little scary and disorienting. Usually though my car doesn't seem to be reacting properly to everything I do, so I guess that would make a pretty good dream sign.
I love napping. It's like some sort of meditaion for me... I can hear the sounds around me while taking a nap, is there anyone else that does that?
I have trouble with naps. The only way I manage to take one every now and then is sometimes when I come home from work and happen to lay down on the bed, maybe play with the dog or whatever, then start to feel tired. But, I can't just decide to "lay down and take a nap because I always get that feeling that I should be doing something productive (believe me, I know naps are productive too!).
I just can't seem to relax enough, which is probably why I have so much trouble LDing in the first place. I have a really comfortable airbed and sometimes that's all it takes for me to lay down and take a break - but it doesn't often turn into a nap.
Yes I sometimes do this as well. Although I find that if I am laying in a bed then this doesn't happen. It only seems to happen in my car for some reason.Quote:

yeah, if I happen to nap in a place that's noisy, which I rarely do. once I fell asleep on a couch while a tv was on and I could hear every word.Quote:

When i'm napping there is usually too much noise around me so when i finally do start dreaming it is often what others r saying....most of the time i just WILD on accident because i can't sleep while they talk...so i just dream more up around them...
hope that made any sense...
I fall asleep -- sort of. I cycle in between waking and pre-REM deep sleep mode. So I still know everything that's going on, but I have all these thoughts running around through my head, some of them almost (but not quite) dreamlike.
I wonder exactly why is that? I don't get the pleasure of having naps much at all anymore *sighs* but when I did, I had some of the MOST weird and vivid dreams. (rarely went lucid though) one of them I was with this disembodied voice who was showing me my dreams in colour, as if on a tv screen. That was one of the most strangest dreams I've ever had.Quote:

Another one I had was where a voice/man told me to seek the creature in the west, the winged lion, and to fly under rainbows. I never did discover the meaning of the creature in the west. He also warned me about the creature in the east as well, saying to only ride upon it's back Once, and only once.
