my 100% effective LD method

my 100% effective LD method:

it is like a MILD but much easier to achieve !
when you are going to sleep you start thinking things automatically without intention and you don't realize most of the times.
if you make sure that the topic is going to be LD when you think with out intention in your bed you are gonna get an LD,
and you do this by just mind-saying lucid dream or something related to LD, then your mind will think about that unconciosly until falling asleeep

this method works 100% present of the times for me ,
(i can have LD's every day now) yay!!!!

I have started paying attention to the self-perpetuating thought threads that take over as I drift off to sleep. I like the idea of inserting thought threads of LUCID DREAMING while I drift away... I will have to give this a try tonight.

Viking, this is irony at its best. Last night as I was going to bed I looked at the clock and it was around 4. Usually going to bed that late at night takes the place (if not is a better replacement) of WBTB. So I just relaxed and thought about MILD, that of which I've never tried. I laid there and didn't auto-suggest lucid dreaming, I decided things like what I was going to do when I became lucid, how I'm going to feel, and the first measures to maintain lucidity. Even though the post on your personal method isn't very lengthy or descriptive, I believe I know EXACTLY what you're talking about, because last night I had a Lucid Dream...the first in weeks...by doing exactly what you mentioned. For those of you beginners torn between which induction method to take up first, try this one out for a spin. I've had a successful WILD, DEILD, and now a MILD, and I have to say that MILD was the easiest. Of course this is a personal preference, and lucid dreaming is different for each person, but I'm just trying to share my observations to the community :). Good luck everyone!

if you can make this to happen with your mind unconciosly thinking about lucid dream, then you will have an LD.
My way to make this happen is just thinking about lucid dreaming
(you dont have to repeat a mantra or anything)
and then relax and let your mind continue thinking about LDreaming stuff without intention!

I think I get what you're trying to say! All our minds "drift" to things, seeming random things, while going to sleep. This phenomenom seems even more noticeable when trying an induction technique that uses focus and concentration, as you're trying NOT to think of anything but lucid dreaming. I think the trick is to make lucid dreaming what the mind drifts TO, and not what we focus on. If LDing is so ingrained into the subconscious that we naturally think about it without trying, then it's sure to happen in a dream, and thus we become lucid!

You know, that's really simple, but it makes a TON of sense, and I've never thought about it that way! This should be called "Zen Lucid Dreaming"; we can only attain that which we don't desire. Kinda like Murphy's law... lol. I wonder what the best/easiest way to accomplish this would be, though... just randomly thinking about LDing throughout the day doesn't seem to be enough, personally...

Hm at first I thought it was stupid but I read through the thread and it definitely makes sense now. The only problem is how to make your mind wander to LDs..

its harder than it sounds, you can't just automatically think about Lding, i've tried that method many times, and most the time i end of forgetting and not having a ld. Its harder than it sounds.

yes it is possible to think automatically about LDs , maybe you are using the wrong method for you. i don't know more methods for thinking about stuff automatically but im sure there are some out there waiting for us to discover them.
although i was thinking that this happens almost always when you are very exited about the topic (in this case lucid dreaming).
but anyway every method for LDing works different on people depending on their cerebral characteristics.

but im sure this will work for many people :D

I noticed that when my mind tends to "drift" it is usually connected from one thing to another. Like the first thing I think of is usually connected to the second thing and so on. Maybe if you think of something that's related to LDing to you your mind will wander to it.

Dammit, that just made me lose the game. I've associated so many things with 'the game' in my head that you talking about connected things made me think about it.

I know this sounds like the hardest to take advice in the world but I wish I'd taken it when I first heard it.

Seriously, curiosity killed the cat... and everything else, when it comes to the game. Don't ask.

I suppose one way to make the mind "naturally" think about LDing is to associate the entire concept of it with pleasureable things. Make your mind WANT to think about lucid dreaming on it's own. For instance, eat a cookie when you think about LDing. Get an ice-cold glass of water, listen to your favorite song, take a five-minute rest... hell, not to sound sick, but have sex, with or without a partner. Whatever it takes to make happiness and lucid dreaming synonymous in the mind. It's something I'm gonna try.

Ahhhh I finally understood what you mean by this. I'm still a beginner, but everytime I think about lucid dreaming and everything associated with it seriously before I go to bed, I get an LD, every time. I'll try and move this puppy to autopilot though :p

YO this method WORKS
trust me i was gonna make a thread of this but i wasnt sure if i was right.
two nights ago i had an LD and i realized that the way i did it was by thinking of LDs while in the hypnagogic image state it wouild lead to an LD. i RECOMEND IT TO ALL (specially noobs) do it.:banana:

This is an easy technique. But it's never resulted in LD's that were long and fruitful. But I managed after practice to maintain long LD's through this technique, but I never had full control.

I resorted back to WILD's, which are inherently more difficult. But the victory outweighs the struggles pain.

I use this technique during a dryspell.

Usually when I spend a few hours studying for a test or something before I go to sleep, the drifting thoughts I get before going to sleep and even my dreams, relate to the subject I studied. Maybe if you spend like one hour reading a lucid dreaming book before going to sleep and then when you go to bed you start thinking of what you just read, you could create this unconscious effect.

Alright so i tried this induction technique the last night, and was unsuccessful. I think this is harder than it seems :confused:

usually when i try mild or thinking about LD i find it hard to sleep because im trying, if you know what i mean, anyway im going to bed in about 5 mins so yay:banana:, maybe the whole test thing will apply because i've been reading for a while and im exited lol :banana:

I'll give this a try for the next week. I think it's pretty interesting, and something that could be a really great technique if we collaborate.

Edit: Ok, I tried the technique last night before sleeping. Surprisingly, my mind didn't drift too far off. I just started out by imagining myself explaining LD'ing to a friend.

I was pretty impressed. I didn't technically have a full LD, but I had an extremely vivid dream in which I was vaguely aware that I was Lucid. Definitely going to do this technique more often! Good job!

P.S. I lose the game like 3 times a day since I started LD'ing. I used to be so good at it... :damnit:

yea , it may sound a bit stupid , this tecnique is about trying to not try to think about LD, just it has to be quite natural ....
if you know what i mean:?

if you don't understand ,don't try to because you'll get confused:)

and the other way to think something naturally or drift is like being exited about it or something or being doing something related to it for a long time in the day (talking about LD-reading about LD )or that stuff

but, yea this technique has not produced super vivid , totally controllable dreams , i think is just for new people to get the idea of what is an LD, or to get one ever night:D.

but im sure that if we all collaborate this could turn into a marvelous tecnique

well this half worked. I dreamt about lucid dreaming, my brother was telling me about how he lucid dreams ( he doesn't know about it in RL). I also remember a lot more dreams than I normally do and they were all very vivid. Definitely carrying on with this technique!

You know bushido i had exactly the same outcome, in my dream i was walking down the road talking to a friend (who doesnt know about lucid IRL) about LD about how they LD but it never occured to me to do a RC. strange i see this working in the future (hopefully tonight :P).

I think this technique MIGHT requre a balanced mindset between passivity and attention.. like a Yin/ Yang harmony? You let your mind passively connect Lding ideas but then you observe when your mind has become fully distracted from the topic of Lucid dreaming and you activitely bring the focus back to Lding.. then you let the connections just happen again.. etc...

That's how I'm going to attempt this tongiht (Although I'm going to FILD in the morning)

Ok i think i get it, do you try to get your sub conscience to think about lucid dreaming? Its hard to understand

I've been doing this technique for a few days now, and I have to say it's pretty useful. Only one semi-lucid out of it, but massive amounts of clarity and recall. Who knows, that might be placebo taking actual effect, as it IS my own mind.

Some nights are harder to stay on track than others. I'll try experimenting with different amounts of focus.

Again, great technique! I would suggest it to anyone interesting in dreaming, even if only for the clarity increase.
