Thread: Dream Guides

Dream guide is a term often thrown around here and the general defintion is something spiritual that well, guides an individual in dreams. Sort of like someone watchingover you.

Of course, these can be seen as mere dream characters if you don't believe in the spiritual side of lucid dreaming. (Which I personally don't)

My dream guide, IS CHUCK NORRIS!!!!!!

only met mine once and I forgot her name. It did happen, though.

To find my dream guide i'll have to sommon some demons for a better hunt.lol i won't let then hurt my guide though.

lol I just found my dream guide. She's some beautiful girl just like I wanted. lol I goto kiss her in the neck which felt soft and smooth. lol that took part when I tried to induce a WILD, but failed and instead succeeded in a DILD almost now and got to the point that when i kissed her, I woke up. darn it!!!

I know what you mean, but personally, as much as I would like to, I don't believe in that sort of thing. I think that a Dream Guide is exactly like what BillyBob said it is, just a dream character that you allow to know more about you and your "inner self" than it's peers do. When you see a dream character and think that it's your dream guide, you unconsciously allow it to "know" far more about you than all the other seemingly senseless and mindless DCs. This makes it seem as if it's something special, like it knows more about you then you do, and ultimately that it is a different entity all together. But in the end, from a scientific and logical approach, anyway, it's just another imaginary character in your mind.

A Dream Guide is just that. It is a DC or Dream Character in your dreams that is re-occuring I.E. usually appears the same every time you see them with perhaps some slight differences. Your Dream Guide can be just about anything a human, animal, mythical beast, etc.

Your Dream Guide more often than not will be very intelligent far superior to other DC's. Your Dream Guide can do many things for you such as teaching you how to do things in the dream, summoning things, taking you places, you can have a chat with them, ask them questions, etc.

That is what a Dream Guide is. So how will you know if you have found your dream guide? Ask them, if you say "Are You My Dream Guide" and they say "Fishes sure fly weird" this is not your Dream Guide. Your Dream Guide upon asking them if they are your dream guide will most likely have a educated answer "Yes", "Yes I am your Dream Guide", "Yes My Name Is (Fill In The Blank)".

As for finding your dream guide there are many ways in which this can be done. You can summon them, have a DC take you to it, Say that when you turn around your DG will be behind you, or the door technique in which you say that once you open the door your DC will be on the other side. I am sure there are many other methods to find your DG, but I have listed a few.

Yes, but you're missing the point. What's curious is that these characters allegedly acknowledge that they are dream guides. What I'm asking is, which is it?

1) People read about dream guides, then expect to have one, and their subconscious then creates one for them, or
2) Everyone has a dream guide whether they've read/heard about them before or not, and they will eventually find it.

The former seems likely, but the way you speak of dream guides does not indicate that that's the situation. The latter suggests that dream guides are a common factor in all lucid dream-worlds. Which is it?

I'm also curious to know, since dream guides are more important than normal DCs, how the appearance of the dream guide is affected by the person's desires. Will it be your favorite animal, a girl you like (or guy), or just something you happened to come across that day? Not sure if anybody has looked into that yet...

You can't prove anything that occurs within dreams really other than that Lucid/Dreams exist. Your subconscious supposedly makes up your dream world if that's the case you may of always had a DG or you may just stumble upon one after reading there is no way to prove it. Since a DG could be like a Dream Sign except taking the form of the DC is what it seems to be like I think when I say that you have always had a DG I am correct a re-occuring DC is most likely to be your DG.

How the appearance of the dream guide is affected by person's desires I can't quite say. Mine is a Old Asian Man, Another's is a girl, another's is a dragon, another's is a wolf, another's is a humanoid owl. From all of these it sounds like a DG is random.

I disagree entirely. It's not like it's a set being that's embedded deeply inside of you.

It occured to me while in a LD this chick happened to help me get my fingers out of a net. Somehow i put my hands into it without looking and got stuck. She happened to get them out easily for me. I suppose no other Dc would do this he he good thing she did it. She was hot, blonde and in some sexy ass hell undergarments. Dude as soon as i gained lucidity from that occasion, i eventually grabbed hold of her from the back and kissed her on the neck. eventually the LD ended right when i kissed her though. Darnnit!

I didn't say it was a set being although everyone can find their Dream Guide is what I was saying. If you look for your Dream Guide you are bound to find it. Which is what I meant by everyone has a Dream Guide you just have to look for it.

If you really wanted to get deeply into it you also take 1) into account.
If you read about Dream Guides and go into a dream hoping to find it your subconscious may create one for you. Although other people have said they found their Dream Guide without knowing what it was beforehand.

It's all really hard to really define since none of it can really be proven by scientific facts as it varies from person to person.

1) Everyone has the ability to create in their dreams something we could call a dream guide whether or not they know of the phenomenon, or
2) A dream guide is a specific entity which exists in everyone's dreamworlds irrespective of that person's knowledge of the concept of a dream guide.

Again, 2 seems to me to be suggesting something a bit supernatural.

Yeah you do.

Yes I would think that upon the mention of the dream guide your subconscious could create a DG without you actually knowing about it, and that the dream guide is a entity which everyone has existing within their dreamworlds.

Now I am not saying that it is some super natural being what I am saying is that like a dream sign you may notice something like a DC or a Animal or a creature or something to that effect that is a re-occurence within a dream, now "this" whatever it may happen to be may very well likely be your dream guide.

However I would have to say that prior knowledge as to what a dream guide actually is would play a very large role in all of this , because if you did not know what a dream guide was beforehand then you would not even take into consideration to search out such a thing.

If you and your dream guide were fighting who would win ?

Gnome. I will say it. It is something supernatural. I am talking other demensions, disembodied beings and things you will tell me can not be. I really am not much into debating. So, let me give you this ___yes maybe my mind has me fooled, ok maybe___ What I will do, and quickly, is tell you my experiance in super brief. I started LD 22 years ago. Just normal stuff for years, except maybe feeling I was being watched or judged. Later, the feeling was very scary and I became conviced "I was not alone" Years into this a woman, scary and masterful like a great god appeared and I KNEW she was real and scary and she started telling me what a dumb ass I was, and everything she hated about me. I ran, she had two male friends, a tough guy and a calm scholar. Over perhaps 100 dreams they always were there. She would make me behave and study,,, they could paralize me with eye contact. Years go by..... I had advanced to amazing levels of control. I think I graduated because she finally left and some others befriended me.
Now, you can and will write this off as 1)made up or 2) self hypnosis or something. But hey maybe some will look at #3) this dream stuff is weird, and goes very far into the super natural.
Now days I have dreams where 5 or 6 dream gude types will just be hanging out like we are in a coffee shop or on a picnic. They involve me in games and actively coach me. Lucid dreams with full clarity where I just sit and take instruction for half an hour? Hard to believe my brain would just create this. Also I see the same people over and over. The woman was in every dream for maybe 100 dreams!
I really do not want to debate, so think anything of this post you like. Good luck in your dreams, may they be everything you ever wanted.
