Those dreams where you wake up etc

Grrrrr! Those dreams where you dream you wake up and go about the getting ready for school process are so annoying sometimes. Often I dream that i've woken up and gotten dressed and everything, then hearing grandad shout and I think i'm awake, and then I really wake and have to go through the whole damn rigmarole again! It's having to go through the painful waking up process again that annoys me, because I always think 'Ooh yeah, i'm making good time, I won't be late to school today' but I invariably am when this happens because I wake up later, because I already think I'm awake.
Is this a type of lucid dream too? Because you are controlling yourself etc, but you think you are awake.
I just wanted to know what everyone else thinks of this type of dream.

I have those to i don't know if i am lucid but i can move by will.

Most common type of FA. It's easy to turn it into a LD.

Every time you wake up, look at your digital clock. If numbers change,

jump all over the place , or dimmed out, you are 99% dreaming...


Another thing I've noticed about this type of false awakening - at some

point you may have a strange feeling, you cant really describe. When you

get it, look at your digital clock...

Ok, thankyou, I will try remember to look at my clock when it happens again. Will they always change or whatever if it is a dream? Or can they sometimes just be normal and i'll have to hope for another clue as to the fact i'm dreaming.

I have used that kind of RC but it didn't work.

Checking a clock works for me.

In one LD I had. I had 5 FA's and became lucid after all of them. I just got used to the fact that I FA and I could not be tricked.

last night i had a dream that i was at school i realised it was a dream and became lucid. I said what i wanted and did what i wanted but i just went through school like usual, like i was afraid it was not a dream.

Yeah, many of my dreams seem to occur at school. The first lucid dream I had after joining this forum (and the only one I can remember where I didn't wake up very soon after realising I was asleep) was in the school library, and I decided i'd see if I could revise, so I got some people to get all the biology GCSE books and bring them to me, but for some reason I couldn't open them, so I sent them flying across the room without touching them. 'twas fun, but I don't remember what happened then. I remember how green the carpet was, there is a space in the middle of our senior library that has a green carpet, and I really love the colour. It's a wonderful shade of green.
I see what you mean, about being afraid it wasn't a dream. That could be potentially very embarassing, trying to explain to a teacher for example why you perhaps threw the classwork out of the window. "I thought I was dreaming, honestly miss!".
Goliath, wow, 5 FAs all in a row, so was that like waking up thinking it was real, realising it was a dream, waking up again, thinking it was real, then realising it was a dream, then waking up again etc etc? Sounds very loopy, in the actual loop sense, not loopy as in crazy.
