After all these years ive wondered about the Dream world. to finnaly figure out its caleld Lucid Dreaming
to finnaly figure out i can do it

...and it wont work


SOO.. i went to the Tutorials.. and Read in WILD's you must sleep for 5-6 hours before attempting.. OR another one said till wait till midnight.. soo ur tired enough.. which both cases make sence.. and i got the rest down..

DILD are normall dreams... liek the ones we usually have.. soo how do you make that into a Lucid Dream. because isnt that supposed to be the easiest type of LD?

ive been trying to have A LD.. when i decide to get a good sleep.. like a round 10.... and so far i get VERY irritated and pull out ever time..

Whats wrong with me? do i just need to keep going or is it a natural feeling to pull out? but u must conquer it?

I need help.. theres soo many places i want to go... ( in my mind of LDing)

with WILD definatly do a wbtb. (the sleep for 5-6 hours one) and as for DILD...

DILD stands for Dream Inicated Lucid Dream. So it is basicly any dream where you realize its a dream when you are already dreaming. This can be acheived best by doing reality checks. i. e. (the nose rc, the hand rc, the tongue rc, the lightswitch rc, etc) there are 2 ways that i know of to get yourself to do reality checks in your dreams.

1. just do them spontanisly throughout the day. the more the better
2.when ever you see your dream sign do an rc.

a dream sign is somthing that pops up in your dreams often i.e. (you dream of pizza alot, so whenever you see pizza do a reality check.)
you can find dreamsigns by using a dream jornal.

DILDs are very random. It could take a couple weeks for you to get very consistent in having them. so dont be suprised if you go even a whole week with consistent reality checks and still dont have a LD to show for it. Dont worry! just hang in there and they will come :)

here are a couple tips to help you get more LDs

1. dont get discouraged! that only makes things worse. The LDs will come. i promise. all it takes is a little time

2. unless you are naturally good at it, dont make the first technique you try a WILD. WILD is a very dificult technique, and its hard to try and force yourself to have a LD if you havent had LD dream before. Its like trying to teach a little baby to ride a bike! you cant just throw them on the bike, give them a push, and expect them to know how! you got to teach them to walk first. then you got to teach them to run, then you got to use training wheels etc. dont ruin your LDing expeirence by trying the hardest technique first.

3. use WBTB method. (wake back to bed) even if you are not going to WILD, wbtb generally enhances any technique you are using. Many people use wbtb just by itself and get lucid dreams.

4. Expeirment with different things. What works for one may not work for another. Just because some dude comes on the forum with a technique he claims gives 100% success, doesnt mean it is going to work for you too. and if somthing doesnt work, dont get discouraged, just try somting different!

5. make sure you have a full, steady sleep schedual. REM sleep is where most remembered dreams happen. and most of your REM sleep is later in the night. so if you are only getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night, instead of 7-8, then you are cutting out ALOT of dream time, and severly lowers your chances of having a lucid dream. If you have a steady sleep schedual, then it gets a bit easier to remember dreams and try techniques. If you dont have one, then it gets a ton harder. Whats the point of using techniques that dont work to their full potential, or having a lucid dream that you dont remember? pretty pointless.

6. (and im probably going to get a bit of flame for this) Take vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 doesnt nessicarly make you lucid, but it does (for most people) make the dreams alot more vivid, and easy to remember. Which can benifit your dream journal, and your lucidity. But PLEASE dont over do it. while vitamin B6 is a good vitamin, and helps with energy metablolism and stuff, NEVER go over 200 mg of it. Thats when it starts getting dangerous, and dont take the max amount every day cause then your body starts getting used to the B6 and it becomes less effective. a couple times a week is enough.

Yeah U should calm down and not keep thinking of places U want to go as that can make it worse and distract Ur efforts. Instead U should channel the energy to try new ways U can think of to induce lucidity. The tutorials are the basic methods but U will have to add Ur own stuff to make it work for U...can get intimidating but U should keep coming up new ideas and not get discouraged. For me my mind is constantly brainstorming for new ways/ideas to induce lucidity....many have not worked yet but I don't give up, it's like inventing the lightbulb...:).

u werent boring me at all.. i Read ur whole message.. and i found it actully very helpfull..

soo what LD do u think i should try FIRST?

um basicly anything EXCEPT WILD. If i werre you i would start doing at least once every hour consistently. Dont forget to do them! hopefully these will start transfering over. Make sure you are keeping a dream journal and start looking for dream signs. Start doing wbtbs as well. reality check alot during those wbtbs. After your wbtb is up, i sugest trying MILD. you know how to do that right? it should be in the tutorials.

guy. just have patience. i had the same problem u know but hey shit happenst to good people u know?just chill and wait and ull get it.

Stress out over them. If you strain and over-do trying to have a lucid dream, you will fail. You need to relax, and understand that you will have them. The less you stress, the more LDs you'll have. Just relax and let it happen. Sometimes you just have to just be. Just let things be and they form before your eyes. Beautiful.

Hang in there and don't give up, but don't try to hard either ;)

Yup, what he said. I was stressing too much at first, too, but now I don't think about it as much (but still think about it - ya know) and I had my first lucid dream a few nights ago. It was sort of like a DILD. I just sorta figured out that I was dreaming WHILE I was dreaming due to a dream sign, and I became lucid. Just relax, and don't give up but don't try too har-- oh wait, that was already said. Well, it's good advice.

put on some spae music, take some valerian and some melatonin, and try most of all to put any random thoughts out of your head. If you stress about LDs, they usually are harder to come by.
