I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with external sounds affecting or even entering their LDs. If I had a pre-programmed audio track (say, an audio book, for example), and I could trigger it to play during my dream periods, would I be able to hear or even read the book in my dream? (With recall, of course.)
I know one answer is "anything's possible," but I was wondering if anybody knows of any research or anecdotal evidence suggesting this is really a viable thought. Thanks!

Okay, but what findings are you basing that conclusion on? I'm just curious if you know if it's been tried, or if you've tried it yourself.
Tried it myself a CD I was listening to while falling asleep appeared in my dream as Background Music, and a voice told me that if you hear music in your dreams you must be dreaming. So I base my conclusion off of my own experiences.

I work overnights so I do most of my sleeping during the day, and fairly often i can hear sounds from the real world in my lucid dreams. sometimes its distracting and wakes me up, other times it just disappears into the background if I concentrate on dream sensations
