Trouble with recall

I am a lucid newb but I used to remember my dreams very often. I started keeping a dream journal but strangly I can't remmember my dreams anymore. My sleep time has been cut due to my night-owl'ness and working in the mornings. I know that doesn't help but what are some good tips that you guys have found on working with dream recall? I can't wait until my frist journalized LD.
