Well technically a journal of your everyday life would help but it can be very time consuming, especially if your doing it everyday, dream journals can be alot easier to keep and write in, just work on your dream journal by remembering as much as you can, then its more of a challenge and it makes you better at recalling just your dreams. I suppose in a way if you start remembering too much about the day it could be confused as a dream when its not.

      Hey there,

I think the reason why a dream journal is so important is because of the underlying ideas about it. You're paying attention to your dreams, you're motivating yourself to remember your dreams, and these things lead to increased awareness.

Now a real life journal... would depend a lot on what its about. Most likely, it wouldn't involve the above things. It wouldn't really cause you to pay more attention to your dreams. So I don't think it would help a lot, unless you spend a lot of time in your waking life doing something related to dreams or lucid dreams.

      Just my 2 cents,

Real Life Journal would probably help with life, a Dream Journal helps with dreams get my drift?

Actually a real life journal could help because your essentially strengthening your memory and with a better memory your likely to remember more dreams also, it makes sense, but a dream journal is more suitable because like i said, a life journal would probably take up too much time.

I agree with Lucid Seeker. Writing my dreams, already takes a lot of time every day. But I love doing it anyway. I would not want to write my whole day, every day. That would take up every moment of my free time. Besides, My Life isn't all that exciting on the surface. I would just be writing the same things every day.

If you want to increase your memory try to write down everything you did that day on a list. Slowly it will get longer.
