My first lucid!
First lucid dream 2007 #1
Well, I more less abandoned my dream recall book months ago although, I think this dream is worthy of reviving my “hobby” of dream recall. Over the past weeks I have been doing reality checks throughout the day by pinching myself whenever something odd happens. I had already done reality checks in two other dreams but the reality checks did not make me attain lucidity (one time pretty much did but I woke up about a half of a second after I realized that I might actually be dreaming) Well this morning in my dream I questioned whether I was dreaming or not so I pinched myself and that helped me doubt that I was awake.
. The dream was abnormally long. I was at school and I had possessions of some sort on the 2nd story of the school. If I remember right, other people did to. My mom and my brother came to pick me up but I said I had to gather up all my stuff and that it might take a while. My brother told me to hurry up because he had to go to work (I think) and I said ok it might take a little while. (I think I seen Brad L. in the school somewhere outside or inside of the school but didn’t really care to much) I got up to the 2nd story and tried to throw all my stuff “together” into a duffle bag. But It was taking a little while (3-10 minutes DT) and
I quickly ran down the steps and I was no longer in the school but in my living room. (should of reality checked!). Knowing I was already taking a while, I went over to my yoyo case* which was on the floor by the green chair and the strings and everything were all out of the case so I put all the strings in the case as fast as I could. When I was done putting all the strings in the case I looked up because I heard my mom or brad L. yell and they were in a very old Ford farm pickup and my brother was not in it. (I assume because my brother already decided to go to work)
At that point I realized how odd the whole idea of the situation was so I did a reality check by pinching myself in the nose and I did not feel anything. I then pinched my self in the arm but did not feel much pain. I was still not completely convinced that I was dreaming so I pushed my head into the wall that is right beside the old lamp that sugar barks at and when I went to push my head into the wall. My wall was like a trampoline and pushed a section of the wall inwards as if I was sticking my head into jello. That was when I realized that it was a dream although I was a feeling uneasy at the concept at first.
Right after the wall incident, I was all of a sudden in my grandma’s backyard. I then decided to try out the ability to fly. I was struggling to get off the ground. Mainly due to the concept that you can do ANYTHING. I tried doing a swimming breast stroke in the air and I got about 10 feet in the air.( I was completely aware that I was dreaming at that time but the whole idea frightened me, I was very scared I would not be able to get out of the lucid dream so I really wanted to wake myself up) Then I dove straight into the ground to try to wake myself up but I basically dove though the ground then rose straight back to the ground. (At this point I was very scared of not being able to get out of the lucid dream)
[Fragment. I was in some type of trailer and Gram’s mom was there and she had dark hair and looked younger then gram. I was lucid so I did not think much of it except that it was odd]
(Since I was scared of not waking up I decided I mines o’ well make the best of the dream while I’m here)
Gram was at the small bank where the pea tree is in real life except that there were no trees in the dream so I said “gram, look what I can do” and I ran and jumped off the bank and tried to fly but I did not succeed. At that point, I decided I mines o’ well do something fantastically fun. I came up with the idea of going to a hotel and HSWGW. I thought about it but the hotels were miles away in the direction of town. I thought about trying to fly there but my flying skills were not all that great as I previously found out so I thought back to where I read that if you ever want to go anywhere stand, spin in circles, close your eyes, and envision the place and setting that you want and when you open your eyes you were supposed to be in the place you desired. I decided to try this although I was quite skeptical if it would work or not. So I stood by my grandma’s cloth line, did the spinning method, opened my eyes and I was in the hotel! I was so happy and I then started realizing the potential fun that lucid dreams could have. Some hotel lady was like “give him the keys” (dream control on my first lucid dream. Holly Crap!!!) So some lady(s) were gone take me to the rooms. At one point I was standing in some unique looking room with plants allover the place and a bunch of really cool stuff. I walked past a soda can glanced at it and there were readable copyrights** and everything on the can. At that point I was awed by the incredible realism of everything. I thought back to a discussion on the internet (in real life) and everyone was saying how incredibly vivid and realistic everything was. And I agreed! It was as real as real is right now and somehow more vivid than real life. I was astounded.
All of a sudden I was back with the hotel assistants that were leading me and I seen HS statues and I could actually feel the HF. At that point I was very happy and then Rock N’ Roll music started playing and the dream at scenes almost like a movie where I was going to different to different statues as if they were different scenes. At that point was incredibly happy, so happy that my eyes instantly snapped open and I woke up.
The lucid dream was one of the coolest experiences I ever had. I was amazed at how real everything was . It was just as real and somehow even more vivid then real life and you can do anything you want. I can’t wait for my next one!
*The reason with the yoyocase in my living room is because I am the national yoyo champion.
This dream was VERY long. This is a summarized version of the stuff that happened. The prelucid part of the dream was 15 or 20 minutes at least and the lucid part of the dream had to be at least 20 minutes

I am going to lucid dream that I beat you in the national yoyo competition.

I would appreciate comments on if this is a decent first LD

Hey there,
Congratulations on your first lucid dream! Its quite an experience isn't it.
As for your question whether or not it was a 'decent' first lucid dream, I'll quote... well, you :)
