Does anybody know if the Lucid Dream Mask works and do you think i should get it , does it guarentee LDs ?
I think it's like $500. Seems like a rip-off when you can learn to lucid dream for free.
I bought the Rem-Dreamer (from www.remdreamer.com) a few months ago. It is about $180, and has basically all the features available for these types of masks.
Truth be told, I have not yet been able to get any lucid dreams out of it; though I am still experimenting. It has both LED flashes as well as beeps, both of which are adjustible. After a couple of weeks, I realized that the LED lights were just irritating my eyes because a lot of the time they would go off during the night without my noticing. At this point, I've decided to focus on the beeping signal. I think I need to get the frequency up to around the frequency of my watch alarm. I can then try to train myself during the day to respond to that signal with a Reality Check. Then maybe, when it goes off in my dream, I will incorporate it, and then do a reality check.
I really don't know if this will work. But I know I have incorporated my watch alarm into a dream as a pager, so it might work.
Suffice it to say that so far, my hopes for this device have not panned out.
Thanks
See this thread here as well: I've had DreamMaker but was considering to start testing again, giving it more effort.

Seriously, these masks are a waste of money, i mean they may not work at the end of the day, i'll probably end up buying one out of curiousity but still you can learn to lucid dream naturally and by yourself and it pays off, your just being impatient, just give lucid dreaming a chance and work for it, it pays off :)
I think they are defintely over charging. I also would never want to become depended upon one. May be good for dry spells boost etc. I hope the designs get better in the future. I hope to start testing just for the sake of research and get some kind of numbers (LD's) on how reliable they can be if possible.
I certainly would not pay $500 for a lucid dream mask. I regard the $180 I paid for my REM-Dreamer dream mask as a fair price, though. At this point, I just see it as something to experiment with. If nothing else, it does give me some idea of my REM frequency and timing (it indicates how many times it went off on any given night). I think it can also definitely be an aid in dream recall since it can be set to wake yourself up in the middle of a dream.
However, I have yet to see anyone say that it has worked for them as a lucid dream aid. I would really like to know myself if anyone out there has had any success and what method they used.
It seems like a great idea that just does not work in actuality.
At this point I have had far greater success using a galantamine protocol with techniques to produce WILDs.
Yes, the book I'm reading he's had major success with Galantamine along with other supplements. I'm just finishing the book and well start testing myself when I'm done. Dr. Technical (on the forum) has had success with both REM Dreamer and Dream Maker but says the rem detection is a bit better with REM Dreamer. This will be my second dreamMaker, 1st one Tested and bit which was given to me by Bruce @ wellnesstools. I'm going to be testing just of the sake of testing. I dont want to rely on such a device and would greatly miss WILDS because of the experience itself.
Oh im not going to buy one i was just curious , i would much want to learn it the natural way lol ,
I've got a NovaDreamer and a REM Dreamer, I've had the ND for about 16 years. The biggest problem with them is your brain will tune out the flashing lights after a short while and you will know nothing about them. I find if I only use it occasionally then I get the odd LD from it. They're definitely not the answer.
Yeah that seems the way to go. Again, I wouldnt use it for my sole source of lucids either. They are probably good for boosting during a dry spell or something.
I'm testing DreamMaker again and it should be on its way, I'll post on my continous thread I orig started just for the research.
I might be playing devil's advocate here, but the rem dreamer cost me 125€ here in spain and it works pretty good. My only problem with it is that I toss and turn in bed and it sometimes comes off. I learned to lucid dream before the mask and only put it on ocasionally, during dryspells. I even wrote an article on the wikipedia about it, please check it out and tell me what you think. I would never recommend buying it if you don't have exceptionally good dream recall though, and I agree that it's not a good way to learn, just use it to have LD's practically on demand. (I still haven't mastered WILDing)
REM Dreamer
I havent had the opportunity to test Rem Dreamer but I know from my past DremMaker mask isn't going anywhere (ie falling off) although if you sleep on your side such as I, it can cause some discomfort. The mask itself fits pretty good and is pretty comfortable considering there's a circuit board in there.

I don't think I''d ever buy a lucid dream mask, I'd much rather learn it naturally. :) I'd hate having to rely on one to give me lucids.
i got a lucid dream cd and the music helps me getto sleep but when i wake up ive had at lest 1 ld and i remember all my dreams it realy good but a mask.....i dont think so itll just iritate ya
I heard the new Nova Dreamer will be presented this October, but I don't know if the source is reliable.
Yeah, I'm on there mailing list, this was in the last one:
* NEW DREAMLIGHT/NOVADREAMER DEVICE COMING SOON
The next generation of NovaDreamer will be previewed at our upcoming
Dreaming and Awakening workshop, October 1-10, 2007.
Nowadays you can buy Nova Dreamer very cheap (comparing to the original price) on ebay. I bought mine for 100$ looks like new on the pics, Im waiting till it gets to me:) Ofcourse you can NOT rely only on some peace of electronics!!! Im interested in LD since 7 years, had many LDs since then. I have heard about those kind of masks years ago when they where expensive and I couldnt ever afford them. But now?! what the heck!100$ for a cool thing like this?why not!
By the way, about the price... you all have to notice that this product is something revolultionary!there wasnt ever before something even close to this. Guys at Lucidity Institute are pioneers in this domain. So we have to understand them. And yes, I also think its better to learn "clean" :)
peace!
