Interrupting sleep cycles/WBTB/WILD
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member, but I'm familiar with this forum. Anyway, I noticed that many people advise awakening during your REM period when using the WBTB/WILD methods. Why is this? Does it take less time to re-enter REM when you wakes up in middle of it? And does this mean that your body continues from where it left off in its sleep cycle when you go back to sleep? For example, if you woke up after 5 1/2 hours(6 hours=4th REM period) of sleep, would that mean that it would take your body about 30 minutes to enter REM, in addition to the time it takes to relax your body back into sleep? Thanks in advance.
