Stuck in the dark

I was sleeping last night when i relies i went to sleep and found myself in total darkness ( The part where i haven't start dreaming yet ) I try to get out of the darkness or at least change the scenery to something else but i relies i can't! I tried everything to get out, i can't use that method where you have spin around in circle and the scenery will change when i don't even have a body to spin around. Next i got frustrated so i tried to claim down and try again but that didn't work so i was pretty much stuck in the dark dream for quite awhile when i dream another dream which was a life saver but now am afraid that it will happen again. Can anyone tell me how to get out of that situation?:(

Yeah that's happened to me once.
I wonder if you could escape that by "going to sleep" in your dream, thereby entering another (hopefully brighter) dream. Or you could try and cause a false awakening. Or say "lumos", and hope harry potter magic works without a wand (but of course you tried that I expect).

Hi, I haven't experienced what U had before but leaving a dim light(just enough for U to see alittle light through Ur eyelids) on while sleeping gives me more vivid dreams...may help with Ur dark situation where U can use the memory that U had a light on to help U 'illuminate' the darkness?
