That is very typical, though some people experience different types, as you said. Some people just feel the heaviness, some only feel vibrations, some don't feel anything. We're all individuals, and we get different experiences.
Hey there,
The things you are experiencing are part of the sensations of the body going to sleep. The tricky thing is, it's different for everyone. While vibrations and heavyiness are commonly quoted, some people don't get them. Falling asleep is very much an individual thing, with many many variations.
Do remember though that these things are not part of sleep paralysis. (although they could be signs that you're heading towards sleep paralysis). Sleep paralysis in essence is just a paralysis of the muscles during sleep. Nothing more, nothing less. It is often accompanied by various sensations, physical or hypnagogic, but it doesn't have to be, and likewise, having these other sensations doesn't necessarily mean that you're paralysed already.
Anyways, hope that helps clarify things a bit,

the one time I accomplished sleep paralysis everything felt numb and my lips seemed too heavy to move. after this I heard a loud sound in my head. The sound was like a large hollow tube being hit, but the sound was really loud in my head. This startled me out of sleep paralysis and now I am scared to try it again
I usually tend to feel a vibration kind of pulse throughout my body and I feel like I'm being curled into to a ball (though I'm not). The first time I experienced it I freaked out cuz I couldn't move and I heard loud laughing in my head.
It seems to be a pattern that people have wierd sounds happen the first time they experience it... this is case for everyone?
I felt vibrations only once when I woke up, but never on a WILD.
Sounds of all kinds in my head, this happens quite often to me when going to sleep.
I usually feel the same way. Almost all the time I enter a SP state I feel a lot of pressure, like jet lag or something. Other times I'll feel 'light' and vibrations like my whole body has fallen asleep. Sometimes I get a strange feeling like I'm submereged in a pool of slightly cool water.
SP for me happens either at the onset of sleep or during sleep, deson't matter. I get a loud hum/vibration in my head, LOUD, and can't move much more than to twitch a finger or shift my eyes. There's the bodily sensation of being painlessly electrocuted, everything's abuzz, and at times I've hallucinated or had brief FAs during SP, but not much.
I always just feel the heavyness no vibrations at all
For me heaviness is always there, but it varies. I have vibrations a lot too. Although everytime I have sp it is different.
Heaviness, vibrations, tingling sensations, sounds, all common for people.
I personally never feel heavy, but I get all the other sensations.
