selmuir: if you're aware enough to claim that you're lucid, then you shuold theoretically (with practice) be able to realize that you DONT want to have sex during these LDs.

Well i try not to do it so much because of the losing lucidity problem it brings but i like to just meet a girl and then walk away because that way it doesn't mess with your lucid dream but it's easier said than done.

haha, thats great. personally I have yet to lucid dream so Idk how I will behave on that front. but, maybe you should not meet a girl in your dream, that way there isnt a chance of a sexual encounter...

I used to have that problem, but it got better with practice. Start actively incubating other things that you'd like to try. You need to have some ideas before you get lucid.

I think this has something to do whith what you're deep-down core desire is if you had absolute power and freedom. For some people it's to fly, for some people it's to have sex with anyone they want, whenever they want.

Probably just a lack of imagination, unless of course it is a deep-seated psychosexual nymphomania satyr-complex problem. It helps to have some other tasks in mind.

Anyway, it will indeed get better with practice. Do you try for the tasks here? They are a fantastic start - challenging but not so difficult as to be frustrating, and always interesting.

And I hear next month's tasks both involve a lot of sex!

I don't think we do things to feel free. Maybe some do. We just are, in our lucid dreams, so we take advantage immediately with indulging in the most pleasurable act we can think of that we can't generally take part in on demand. For most, it's sex. Carnal instincts.

Hey there,

Remember there's different levels of lucidity. Although we like to categorise in 'you're either lucid' or 'you're not', in truth consciousness is more of a sliding scale, in that you can be 'more' or 'less' conscious, and even during lucid dreams, there's a lot of variety in how conscious you are.

When you're in a lucid dream where your consciousness isn't as sharp as it could be, you're more likely to act on your unconscious urges, like the desire to have sex, to feel powerful, to feel free, etc. When your consciousness in a lucid dream becomes sharper, it becomes easier to remember more complex and abstract dreamgoals, such as experimenting with dreamcontrol, finding your dreamguide, etc etc.

In your case, I'd advise you to attempt to build in an automatic reflex whenever you become lucid to try and 'increase your consciousness'. There's many methods to do this, so I'd recommend a search on the forum about this. Often it's a matter of not letting yourself feel rushed, taking the time to try and think things through, or even using verbal commands such as "lucidity now" or "increased consciousness" or such.

I find (as has already been said by others) that the more lucid I am the less gravitated towards sex I am. And for the reasons mentioned: the more lucid I am the more I realise I can do things that can happen only in dreams rather than only looking for easy sex. However, in lesser lucids and non-lucids priorities can change drastically.

The feeling of being rushed is certainly a factor. As is the lack of preparation. If you rush yourself or have nothing in mind already, you will tend to jump into "primal acts". Primal instincts are fun though. And some things, like flying and altering scenery, are not only indulgences but they are practical tools in the dream world.

So, if you want to broaden your scope of lucid dream activities then you first must increase your level of lucidity (this should also come naturally with practice and/or various techniques) so that you are able to pause a moment and think about what you want to do. Have a good idea of some things you'd like to do. Get into trying the lucid tasks each month.

Also, embrace the idea that in your dreams you are God. You can have total control and are not bound by the existing dream content. Keep in mind the joy of exploring with your dream powers, your ability to create, alter, and dissolve. In other words, if you have fresh in your mind that the dream world is your malleable playground then you will more likely be open to the possibilities when the opportunity presents itself.

I have the same thing, friend. I suppose, for me at least, when I get better control I will be able to concentrate on other things. My problem is, when I get lucid, now and then, I go crazy and try to, mainly, do things I wouldn't get away with in real life such as screwing random DCs and ... things I'd prefer to go unmentioned. When the frequency of LDs increaces I will not worry about squeezing lots of 'To Do's into 10 minutes and be able to concentrate on individual things.

You know, Marvo's got a point. Try and do it a bit more when your awake, and hopefully you'll be a bit more satisfied. Also, you should know that sex is pretty intense, so if you decide to do it in a dream, chances are the dream won't last that long. There are better ways to use your time while lucid, such as promoting more lucidity in the future! , for whatever purpose. Look for an "LD pill" or something that will convince you that it will assist in providing you with more lucid dreams.
