I think I'm doing something wrong

I read somewhere that if you watch HI it will start to turn into shapes and figures that eventually become more realistic images. then the images become lucid dreams. But When I try and watch HI it usualy doesn't change it's a bunch of yellowish or white shape things that keep moving all sorts of ways. I end up staring at that for hours and end up with sore eyes. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I have the wrong idea of what HI is. because I also heard it described as just really realistic daydreams. I'm a little confused :(

Are you WBTBing? Without that it's a lot harder for HI to turn into a dream.
Also, I can't speak from experience, but I don't think you're supposed to "stare" at the HI.
