My WILD problem
I stopped attempting WILD some time ago but I tried every other night in spring. What first got me interested was OBEs so I was in bet trying to stay conscious while falling asleep. Now that I've had some a different way and I now beleive their dreams that isn't the point; I was still doing the same thing. All I wanted to do was to enter a dream or otherwise while conscious, but I've never done it simply because I have difficulty sleeping anyway.
People say that falling asleep is not a danger, if I am trying for a WILD there is a 100% guarantee that aint going to happen with me. At other times, like waking up in the middle of the night I fall back to sleep without even thinking; literally just after I close my eyelids. It's such a shame becuase I really would like to get WILD to work! Any advice please?
On the other hand... HAVE I succeeded; but I just don't remember the dream 0_o!?

Hey
Try setting an alarm for around 5 hours after you go to sleep.
When the alarm awakens you, get up for a few minutes, read up on lucid dreaming, perform lots of reality checks or whatever.
Go back to bed with the intention to WILD and just relax your body. If you're afraid of losing consciousness and falling asleep entirely then keep your mind occupied by counting or by picturing a scene. Also, concentrating on your breathing can help induce sleep paralysis.
You should find that after a short amount of time SP will hit, and you will then be in a great position to enter a dream.
Hope this helps. :)

If trying to WILD results in insomnia, just don't try to WILD. Especially not on your back or some other unusual sleeping position for you. Try sleeping on your side and not jumping on every sign your sleeping - lighten up your efforts. Or, just think a lot about lucid dreams and what you want to do in them before you go to bed and/or during a WBTB episode, then sleep and see what happens, and only try to WILD when you're extremely tired and feel an intense wave of sleep paralysis come over you seconds after you crash.
So far the best LD induction technique for me personally is reading and thinking a lot about LDs and keeping a dream journal to record all the vivid dreams you can remember. But everyone's different.
I had a DILD of having a WILD last night, after a long and frustrating attempt to WILD on my side. I'd failed at least two nights trying to WILD on my back. I thought it would work because I'd just WILDed two nights in a row after I started the hobby. But last night, even trying on my side was overexciting me - I ruined all the comfort and hypnagogic imagery I got because I jumped on them as signs of imminent dreaming before they were powerful enough to overtake me. I just wasn't ready for REM right away any of those times I tried to sleep. There was nothing I could do about it, except maybe try to stay up longer and make myself more tired, but even that doesn't always result in instant REM.

Whenever I try to WILD (though I have yet to suceed) my mind seems to be set a different way from when I normally go to sleep. Like it's locked or something. That way it doesn't wander or fall asleep. Normally I just lay there in SP for a LONG time untill I just quit though.
