Lucid Dreaming vs. Dissociation

I've wondered this for a bit now -- sometimes when we think we are lucid dreaming, may we have actually dissociated?

Essentially, there is a type of dissociation when (in simple terms) your brain's link to your body is cut off, and your brain gets confused, therefore making up its own reality. I'm not sure, but my theory is that it may be possible to dissociate when attempting a WILD.

I myself believe i have experienced a dissociation. I think so because i was taking a nap and had what i thought was a lucid dream and when i woke up, i was paralyzed and could not feel my body. I laid there with my eyes closed for a couple seconds, not able to feel or move anything, and then went back to sleep -- i either had another LD or dissociated again. I woke up fine the next time. The times i've tried to WILD (unsuccesfully) i have reached SP and vibrations, but never have i not been able to feel my body.

Maybe i'm just not experienced enough, but does anyone know more about this? :)
