      Your first time................

Would anyone like to share the first time that they were able to lucid dream (what it felt like, etc.) and also the technique they were using at the time?

Natural DILD - I remember I was in my infant school - damn I must have been young, and I was looking around ofr something and realised it was only a dream. Shit I must have been about 7 or something, that would make it almost 20 years ago!!! And when I realised it was just a dream I walked out of school.

I am Sure that was my first, but I get confused with another I had where I was chased by the police, thinking about it the school one would make sense to me being the first.

The very first time I was ever lucid was when I was a little kid.. I was having a nightmare, realised I was dreaming and used it to wake up.. it stuck with me ever since as the earliest dream I can remember having.. I knew it was something special, I just didn't know how special until I discovered lucid dreaming.

The first one I've had since I've been actively trying to get them was on Wednesday.. a DILD, I realised I was dreaming then had a false awakening, did a RC after 'lying in bed' for a bit, realised I was (still) dreaming, jumped up and just did a bit of experimentation.. nothing too fancy because my alarm went off shortly after gaining lucidity... (don't you hate that? ¬_¬)

I was really shocked about how incredibly vivid it was though. I'm not sure whether that was because it started from a FA (apparently they're meant to be more vivid) or they're always that vivid. Time will tell I guess...

      2007/8 stats:
      DILD: 8 [07|(nov:7,14)(dec:20,25,31) 08|(feb:1,28)(mar:11)]
      WILD: 1 [08|(mar:5)]

      Current aim:
      End the dry spell!

Same here. I've had LDs long before I even knew they were something different than just dreaming. But the ability to wake yourself from a nightmare was a very useful skill for me as a child.
      Working on: Astral Projection
      LDs: Too many to count

I had my first lucid dream somewhere around 4th grade, during a nightmare. I was on the playground at recess with all the other kids, and I looked over at the three teachers who were keeping an eye on us and realized I didn't recognize them at all. Suddenly there was a gunshot and I saw that a kid had fallen on the playground. I ran for help to the teachers and asked who had fired the gun. They all pulled out their guns and said "We did!" After a moment of terrible panic, I realized it was just a dream. Not sure why. I told the teachers it would be useless to shoot me and would just waste their bullets, since this was just a dream and I would be alive upon waking. They saw the logic in that and immediately left me alone! I went inside the school and started running around the hallways wishing I could wake up and get out of the dream.

I had more lucid dreams after that during 4th and 5th grade and so on, or more like MOMENTS in which I realized I was dreaming. I never used any "method" to get them. Now I don't get them anymore but am trying!

When I was little I had a few LD. i had a bad time with nightmares, so whenever I had free control, I assumed it would result in me thinking of something scary. so every LD i forced myself to wake up. I wish I knew about LD as a little kid because I probably could have gotten rid of my nigthmares.
