      Arrow Meditation--> LDing?

      I just learned to meditate. I think it's awesome though I haven't got the patience to keep it up for more than about five minutes. So I was wondering: how does this link to lucid dreaming? I've heard people talk about the link but I am not sure how to incorporate it.

      Anybody who replies, since I may not get back to this for a while, I want to thank. I have stupid LDs right now, not many. I also want to ask how to get over a fear of dream-pain. I tried to convince myself by throwing myself from a distance onto an asphalt surface, but I wasn't really comforted by the strange effect.

      Also, (sorry to pack so much into one thread) if you know, how does it feel like to throw up in a dream?

      Sorry not to divide this, I am kind of in a hurry, can't do seperate threads!

      Thanks so much!

      Focusing on the breathing is boring and tedious. Try counting from 99 - 0. Sounds easy, but gets hard as you sink deeper. Takes about 20 minutes, lets you go extremely deeply. Here's the thread that I wrote. 99 Breaths to Relief a Wandering Mind

      I'm an on-and-off meditator (off lately) and I don't think I had any more lucids while meditating than while not meditating. The only thing that makes me have lucid dreams more than once every month or two is a passionate interest in lucid dreaming itself.

      No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

      I think meditation would work the best with a WILD. It's not the only way, but makes the most sense.

      Good luck!

      How to Meditate

      I always seem to get bored when I meditate as well. I think I might be doing something wrong though. I think its something to do with relaxing and clearing your mind. Helpful for WILDS.

      If you’re gonna microwave that burrito, I want you to poke holes in the plastic wrapping because they explode. And I'm tired of cleaning up your little burrito doings. You dig me?

      Heavy breathing meditation is pretty much what you're doing when you WILD. I guess other than that, the only link would be that they're both different states of consciousness. As to how those states are related, I'm not really sure. I've always wondered if meditation will help you lucid dream. I think it does, even though I'm not an experienced LDer. It kills stress and gives you a nice clear head. There's nothing more important than a balanced, focused mind. That's why I try to meditate every day.
      The journey is usually more rewarding than reaching the destination.

      Thanks, all of you, for the replies. Yes, meditation is learnable! Try the Meditation Station's website. It sounds babyish, but it's really informative. I can see how this might be helpfull for WILDs.
      Also, in other news: I am NOT a he!
      I use a different sort of meditation which is somewhat more interesting than blank mind meditation, but I kind of made it up blending about three different meditations and the concept of meditation together. I came up with a Nature meditation that actually works quite well, but religious meditators may not think it's 'pure' or whatever.

      Anyway, Thanks guys!
