I just learned to meditate. I think it's awesome though I haven't got the patience to keep it up for more than about five minutes. So I was wondering: how does this link to lucid dreaming? I've heard people talk about the link but I am not sure how to incorporate it. |

Focusing on the breathing is boring and tedious. Try counting from 99 - 0. Sounds easy, but gets hard as you sink deeper. Takes about 20 minutes, lets you go extremely deeply. Here's the thread that I wrote. 99 Breaths to Relief a Wandering Mind |

I'm an on-and-off meditator (off lately) and I don't think I had any more lucids while meditating than while not meditating. The only thing that makes me have lucid dreams more than once every month or two is a passionate interest in lucid dreaming itself. |

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.
I think meditation would work the best with a WILD. It's not the only way, but makes the most sense. |

If you’re gonna microwave that burrito, I want you to poke holes in the plastic wrapping because they explode. And I'm tired of cleaning up your little burrito doings. You dig me?
Heavy breathing meditation is pretty much what you're doing when you WILD. I guess other than that, the only link would be that they're both different states of consciousness. As to how those states are related, I'm not really sure. I've always wondered if meditation will help you lucid dream. I think it does, even though I'm not an experienced LDer. It kills stress and gives you a nice clear head. There's nothing more important than a balanced, focused mind. That's why I try to meditate every day. |

The journey is usually more rewarding than reaching the destination.

Thanks, all of you, for the replies. Yes, meditation is learnable! Try the Meditation Station's website. It sounds babyish, but it's really informative. I can see how this might be helpfull for WILDs. |
