I can't tell if what I dreamt last night was actually a dream...

I just joined yesterday and so last night after reading all the posts and tips on how to lucid dream and WILDing and all of that.
So then during the night I woke up about five times and each time I would say to myself that I want a lucid dream. There was one post about someone saying that they picture themselves running through their house, out the front door and then they are lucid, so I would try that each time I woke up.
The thing is, I don't remember anything after running through my house and I am not even sure if I actually woke up during the night at all because I am not normally someone who wakes up during the night and can fall asleep quickly again. :?
