After some of my first few Lucid dreams, I started to have extremely mundane dreams, ones in which I woke up and went to school. In one I even went through what felt like a full day of school (a day I slept through most of but still a full day).
Is it possible that my subconscious could want to hide the fact that I'm dreaming.
If so how can I counter this. I've started by looking for signs of dreaming at random times just to check. Is there anything else?
After writing down my dreams, I've noticed that not all of them are about aliens, saving the world, or talking monkeys. Most of them are about peers, family, pets... And videogames (can't help it. I have gamer blood.). Dreams consolidate the day's happenings. I suggest watching a movie, reading a book, free-writing/drawing, playing videogames ( :heart: ), or listening to music an hour before bed to spice up your dreams.
And yeah, random interval RCs are good. Do one whenever you cross a threshold (doors) in a dream. If you went through a whole day of school (what with switching classes and stuff), this will help you greatly.
It sounds like you're just having a small dry spell. We all get them. Actually, if someone claims that they never gets these, its likely that they are exaggerating at least a little.
One thing I CAN guarantee you however, is that your subconscious is not plotting against you. I believe that there are a few threads around about dry spells. They should be worth a read.

What if my dream characters really are alternate minute personalities, and what if they're tired of me killing them, having sex with them and making them disappear.
I somehow find it hard to believe that, as it would mean every single person on the planet has multiple personalities. I also don't really believe there are hundreds of little sentient beings living in my brain, which is what having "living" DCs would require.
More likely, it's because it's a dream. Let's face it, weird crap happens in dreams. You're going through a dryspell, most likely caused by stress or simple laco of confidence. Relax a little and don't get so worked up over it. If you want, take a week or two break from trying to LD and only write down your dreams. As Arby said, there are plenty of threads about dryspells, and they don't last forever.

Well when you say it that way it sounds silly. Couldn't some psychs be composed of many small component minds?
I'm not saying its definitely the reason I had so many mundane dreams. But just the idea of it is an interesting thing to ponder. I'm big on creating characters consciously. I try to put a great deal of depth into them. Isn't it possible that my subconscious creates characters with the same amount of depth and gets annoyed when I toss them aside so casually?
Dreams always fight becoming lucid. If a reality check fails your immediate thoughts start to come up with explanations for it. It's also why when you're just starting out you wake up once becoming lucid.
But when I first started out I didn't wake up right away...
Right away, when reading this, I've noticed your failure to accept multiple explanations. Nothing personal to you, but sometimes its better to shutup and accept.
Now, don't get defensive. You probablly will be having boring and non-lucid dreams since you are constantly PONDERING *which uses your brain* why you're having these boring dreams. Pretty much everything you think is remembered when its dream time, so stop (even if you don't want to), accept an explanation (even if you don't believe it) and forget about your dryspell.
Thats the only way to overcome it.

I actually wasn't constantly pondering why I had boring dreams. I don't see why I have to pick one of these explanations when its obvious none are guaranteed. So like so many other debates I've looked into, I've already accepted that no one knowns the answer. So I guess I'm all set there.
