Don juan- The Art of Dreaming

Have any of you guys had a chance to read this book yet? If not, I would highly suggest doing so. Some people are under the impression that it is a work of fiction, but I highly doubt that since (from what I've read) is filled with a lot of details about lucid dreaming. For those of you who have read the entire book, have you done any of the things in the book? Like focusing on an object and turning it into an object that causes you to gain lucidity whenever you look at it? From the things that I've read, it sounds like it would work if you had enough practice.

That book initially got me into lucid dreaming

Very good book. Most of techniques are really advanced, but

      they do seem real.

I tried "seeing energy" a couple of times , but I have hard time achieving it :/

So far, "Attraction flying" or "Zooming" technique worked very well.

I really want to summon a "dreaming emissary" or visit inorganic beings

Loved the book. It is there that I got the idea to try attraction. I've not tried to see past any of the dream characters yet to see if they are floating sparks of energy.

I'm going to have to re-read it again soon. I was especially interested in the last chapters where he was interacting with Carol Tieggs(sp?) and intended her forward. Especially interested in the part where he knew if they stepped through the doorway that they would enter a new world and could not return to this one.
Sounded to me like he almost had a total break with reality there. (hope I am remembering the right book)

It was from Carlos that I also started becoming interested in my assemblage point.

Well I'm gonna head on over to the library right now and pop out a few more chapters (thank god for a quiet place), I'll post here anything I find that is relevant to lucid dreaming.

Ya seeker, you are talking about the right book. I saw something interesting in the "Second Gate" chapter- Carlos was attempting to summon the inorganic beings he was seeing in his dreams with the help of Don. Don told Carlos to to picture their "Dream view", is that how this website got named?

Her name is actually spelled Carol Tiggs*

My local book shops don't stock anything on dreaming and I don't have a credit card, so I can't get any from the internet. That book does sound good. I'll have to get it next time I go to London.

Are ya sure don juan's the author?

I looked up the title of the book in my library system, and it found the same title but different author. It didn't have anything under don juan, which is strange.. I mean, it's a very broad system that encompasses nearly every library in the state.

Can you explain 'zooming' and 'attraction flying' to me? I searched the html file but I couldn't find it, and I don't like reading books on my computer it sort of takes away from the experience

      i enjoyed castanedas books.

he's been proven a phony tho.
lots of people have pointed out inconsistencies in his writings, interviews, etc. he never did a good job defending himself either. it got so bad w/people calling him a liar/fraud, etc. that he stopped responding to people who challenged what he wrote.

still, his books are good stuff. the things they make you visualize, and think about. worth it 100%

hahaha @ don juan = don quixote

don = respectful way to address an elder in spanish. it's not short for donald or anything like that.
