      Question Personal Injury

Ok curious about how the lot of you deal with this in the dream world, or rather how you experience it.

To give an example, I was trying to escape some kind of business complex, I had to jump over a gap about 10 feet. I was doing pretty good in the dream using my head to escape. At this point I thought ok, its go time "I'm gona jump this!"

Yeah... well, that didn't work so well, I fell the 20 feet onto solid concrete, I blacked for a second and tried to move, my body wasn't working right. The most noticeable was my jaw it was broken to hell, it was a numbing pain not the kind of oh fuck I just smashed my hand pain (which I have felt here) But it was an incredibly odd sensation not being able to move your jaw properly now that I think past the pain. My right eye was all blurry too and I couldn't think straight at that point. It was one of those quicksand dreams but it was slowing my mind not my body.

      So I'm curious
Have you injured yourself in your dreams?
      Do you feel pain?

Oh hey, welcome back much? XD

Yes, pain in dreams seems to be common with me... Not much else to say on top of that. You should check out some of the many threads about dying in dreams as often pain is associated with that.

Describing my pain? Well, I'd like to say accurate but i've never experienced most of it so i'd have to say realistic and intense.

Fell off a platform trying to fly last night. It didn't feel good, to say the least.

I don't remember ever feeling pain in a dream, although I'm sure everyone is able to.

In lucid dreams I'm the only one who can even think of damaging myself. I once tried 'removing my immunity' and falling off a dream cliff to see what would happen. It didn't hurt, and for some strange reason it felt good.

I've hurt myself a number of times in dreams - recently I dreamed I was riding a bike and kept falling off, and it hurt like hell! I've also had a dream where I was in hospital and someone kept insisting I had to have injections, and the needle definitely hurt. I don't remember this ever happening in a lucid dream, though.

I have wondered whether these dreams might mean I'm experiencing pain in my actual body (for instance, my cat was sleeping next to me during the needle dream so it's not impossible that he might have affectionately clawed me, since he does that sometimes!), or whether it's purely a mind thing. I'm leaning towards the latter, because my dreams (lucid or otherwise) are often incredibly tactile - I've been amazed during lucid dreams that I could feel the carpet under my feet, the texture of my hair when I touched it, the coldness of water, etc...

I actually dislocated my shoulder in a dream yesterday afternoon (nap). It hurt like a bitch but I did what I always do in real life and relax and put it back in. Didn't hurt anymore, :-p.

I remember having a lucid in which I stuck my arm in a fire. It hurt, but I wasn't completely lucid. When fully lucid I'm invincible if I want to be.

I feel absolutely no pain in dreams but I only seem to notice this when I'm either lucid or doing my RC (biting my tounge)

Everything makes sense once you stop thinking about it

I remember having a dream once when I got shot and it hurt but apart from that I don't even remember getting hurt.

I dislocated my shoulder twice in football which ended up in surgery and I can no longer sleep on my stomach with my arm stretched under my pillow. I will have a dream that I got in a fight or my shoulder was moved in an ackward possition and I will wake up in agony with a numb shoulder

I was in a non-lucid, and told this guy to knock me out. He then took up his rifle, smashed it into my head, and I fell over and banged my head into the ground. It hurt. Not as much as it should, but it hurt. I woke up (from the knockout) a second later. It was like a new vision just faded into my previous vision right away, and then I was in a completely different place. Still the dream concept though.

In another dream, I got killed over and over again, in Unreal Tournament and it kinda hurt too, but meh, nothing extraordinary.

I know I've felt pain, not often though. Usually I never am in a situation where I feel any pain, I get out of the situation before anything painful occurs.

Just remembered one instance. I jumped into the air to see if I was dreaming. I flew really high into the air and landed on my knees and hands. They were bleeding and hurting, but not like they would if I had fallen from such a height. I think I figured I wasn't dreaming because I thought there was no pain in dreams.
