      Psychedelic drugs and lucid dreaming?

Hi, i just joined the forum and i´ve been visiting this site a couple of days now. I´m really interested in lucid dreaming and i´ve been keeping a dream journal for a week now and i´m getting used to it.

      Anyway my question is:

Do psychedelic drugs like mushrooms for example, destroy the chances of getting lucid for weeks or just a couple of days? or can it even help?

The thing is, i haven´t used any hallucinogen in more than a month now and im pretty clear in my head. For those who doesn´t know is that when you use psychedelics your thoughts get all weird for a week or two, sometimes longer depending on how much you use.

I would be thanksful if someone with experience could tell me more

I'd have to say no, that any psychedelics that I am aware of, can affect your chance to achieve lucidity in dreams in a positive way. They do however make it difficult to dream for a short time after their use. This is from personal experience though. I've never had an issue getting back to baseline after consuming any substance after a few nights rest.

edit/ that first sentence is retarded, what it should read is something like: I'd have to say that no psychedelics don't help achieve lucid dreams.

I disagree. Psychedelics usually leave my brain feeling burnt out. I am less aware in my waking life the next day and sometimes for a few days and this applies doubly so for dreams. I usually don't remember any dreams at all directly after using psychedelics, let alone become lucid.

A month should be plenty of time to get back to normal, however. It usually only takes me a day or two.

The ability to happily respond to any adversity is the divine.

The thing is that now i don't remember any specific dreams i had after any psychedelics so i can't tell. But i guess i'll just try and see if i remember the dreams afterwards the first days

      Yeah, what they said.

Hallucinogens are weird in the way that they mostly increase REM sleep very early, when you first go to sleep, but suppress it the longer you sleep, leading to essentially no dreams. Your dreams in your REM periods late in your sleeping phases are the longest lasting and most likely ones for you to remember.

I never rembember any dreams at all the night aften having done psychedelics, but then after that, i don't really feel any change...

As the drug leaves the body very quicky i don't really think that there are any long term effects...

I always feel like my brain power is limited after doing shrooms but it only lasts 1-2 days. I also always feel so anti-social the day after, I don't know why . As for dreams: I don't think they really affect my dreams. My last time shrooming, in october, i had some wicked dreams that same night.

For most people drugs and sleep do not mix, especially cannabis. You don't want drugs to alter your state of mind, you want to learn the ability to do it yourself; thus attaining LD state at will.
