Well I've completed step one of WBTB :/

I've noticed when I try and go into SP (Sleep Paralysis), I have to concentrate on my hands and imagine them doing stuff in order to actually feel something. I know it means by hands going numb, because when I raised my hand on giving up, my hand felt dead nervous.

Anyway, what I did. I repeat to my subconscious a few times "Wake up at seven, wake up in five hours" whilst a tiny bit confused on how this would work. Obviously I was doing it at two at night.

But, as impossible as it seems. I actually woke up in the morning, rolled around to see that my digital clock said "7:28", so I was just thinking "I am so telling DV about this".

I did some exercise technique that requires you to put your feet in the air pointing directly upwards, I could only hold it for about fifty seconds, how unhealthy is that?

So when I finished that, my stomach was telling me to rest "now". So when I lay in bed, I tried going into SP (finally, here I will explain). My mind didn't really want me to go "One, I'm dreaming, Two...." so I just stuck with trying to get SP. I lay really still, my toe was pressed against the bed sheets but I doubt that matters, I just tried to trick myself into thinking that was SP numbage. I imaged myself clapping my hands like a mad man, and that actually made my hands want to move like crazy. After they were both feeling a little numb, I pictured a load of colours at once in my head. I lost track of my hands for a few seconds, then put my attention back to my hands. I noticed they felt like their palms were facing upwards when I knew that was impossible.

My eyes kept acting stupid and flickering. I tried reverse blinking but I had too much sleep in my eye to actually fully open my eye. I think my night light was making my eyes a bit flickery.

So to cut a long story short (lol), I gave up after three tries because I was too impatient to wait for my eyes to calm down, which it probably woudn't do.

So yeah, any tips?

Sounds like you're making progress though Jonny, keep at it ;)

Just keep at it. Take one step at a time.

It takes some trial and error to figure you how long it generally takes you to get to certain points of falling asleep and to know what sensations come when.

It's much better progress than you had last week when you were bitch smacking the WBTB method around in the forums.

Well that thing L recommended is waking myself up at a certain instead of using an alarm clock. And amazingly enough, if it wasn't my dad waking me up as he walked past, I think the plan worked. I just feel amazed that it worked! And I had a better sleep in general! And I only had five hours sleep!

I know what you mean. On my attempts of WILD, I set an alarm just in case, but I didn't need one!! I just told myself I'd wake up at a certain time, and I did!!:shock:

I think that's the reason I always woke up before the alarm went off to be honest, because my inner Jdeadevil (hehehe) knew it was going to wake me up with a loud *BZZZZ*. But I'm glad my mind can do it for itself now. ;)

you get it in your hands? my feet are usually the things that go numb. I do the reverse blinking too and that seems to really work well for me. Before going to bed, it takes me about 15 mins to hit SP, haven't tried it using WBTB though so looks like i'll have to give it a go :P

Hehe, I did the same method last night but with 3:00 am. I tried going back to sleep at 4:30 but then I failed from then on.

I was going to try and command my subconcious (or however you spell it) to know that I was dreaming, seen as though I got the hang of waking myself up. I coudn't get back to sleep and my mum told me to get up. I thought it was 7:15 am, but it was 1:45 pm!

Oh man I totally get that too! :banana:

My advice would be to let yourself fall asleep a little bit. I tend to let my mind wander, and come back to full awareness every now and then to "check on" my body. After awhile SP will bring me back to full awareness.
