Aware of not waking up?
weird thought i just had.
ive never had a lucid dream, but could you have a lucid dream, then not be able to wake up from the dream? I mean, that would FREaK the crap out of you if you thought about it while lucid, "how do i get out if i want to get out"

I've had those kinds of LDs before. Not pleasant. But you gotta remember to keep your confidence up - you can do whatever you want in that world, including waking up from it.

I had that before. I didn't have any control, but I was lucid, and I was stuck inside a room with green and yellow tiles. I wasn't aware you could control lucid dreams at the time so I tried to wake up by blinking twice which usually works for me, but I stayed asleep. I tried every method from pinching to ramming my head against the wall but nothing worked. I woke up eventually though, and if you think about it you can't get stuck anyways since you can only sleep so long. So, I think it is possible, but more probable when you don't have any control in the dream world. Since you are here and already know about the control, I think you'd be able to get out.

yeah, I've had that happen. You can always get out of the dream, As Mes said just keep your confidence up. Or, you can panic yourself in to waking up, that usually works;)

I've never voluntarily spat myself out of a lucid dream. I know that it'll end some time. I've been trapped, before, but usually after a minute of doing nothing, the dream naturally shifts.

I have these lucids quite alot because i frequently become lucid in the early stages of sleep. I like it because you can have really long lucids.
-
I wouldn't be worrying about that now.. your problem is gonna be staying asleep...

Yup. I've tried the old cliche pinches and leaping off cliffs. It seems I'm not allowed to wake up until my subconscious is done with me. :(
But it only really matters in lucid nightmares, which with practice one can be turned around. Otherwise, why would you want to wake up before time? :D The dream will ALWAYS end, and you'll probably wish you were back in it.
