      Was this a WILD?

So I'm laying in bed this morning trying to get back to sleep after a good hour. I'm listening to the sounds coming from the kitchen. I began to dream for only the briefest moment because I woke up and could still hear the sounds coming from the kitchen. Upon awakening, I had the distinct impression that I had drifted off. I remember what I was dreaming about too but could not go back to the dream although I wanted to.

What happened here? Was this a WILD and is there a technique to learn so I could reenter that dream?

Well, I dont think you've provided enough information here for me to properly access whether or not you, in fact, WILDed. Was this dream you drifted off into a lucid one? If it wasn't, then the question is false on its face. However, if this dream was a lucid one, can you recall if you consiously drifted into the dream or did it happen without your noticing? Having the knowledge that you were dreaming after the fact does not affect whether or not it was a lucid dream; the knowledge only matters when you are actually dreaming.

To answer your second question, yes, there is a very effective technique you could use in this sort of situation that has seemed to always prove successful for me. If you find yourself drifting in and out of REM sleep, upon awakening from a dream, lay completely still and you are very likely to WILD and reenter the dream.

Thanks for your response and sorry for my lack of providing enough info.

      Hope this helps

I drifted off into an extremely light sleep into an extremely short dream. I think I may have been semi conscious (I was aware that I was moving around in the bed.) I think I was aware I had drifted, and as it was happening I remember watching it unfold from the sidelines and thinking to myself, "hmmmmmm I must be dreaming. There were no dream signs and I had no control over anything and when I awoke I knew I had just had a dream.
