Lucid, odd control, recurring theme, can't stop

Hello, I haven't really tried lucid dreaming since a while ago when i started.

I had an odd dream about two weeks ago that I thought was just another nightmare. The dream was essentially the same idea as 28 Days/Weeks Later movies, where there is a mass crowd of people chasing me.

The odd thing was that on the first dream, it was like the first time I tried to WILD in that I could control what I was doing, but it wasn't like I was doing it. It was like the feeling when you watch a movie and you guess what's going to happen and it actually happens exactly the same way as you imagined, sort of like precognition of the moment if that is any indication.

I was being chased, but I was under the impression that when you were in a lucid dream you could go anywhere and I was stuck in this place that was like a very tall tower that was connected to a college campus like place. The first dream I didn't really think about it, but I had the dream again and it felt lucid, in the sense that while I was thinking about what I was doing (or dreaming or however it's referred to) I couldn't control everything. I could control myself and what I did, but almost like the real world I had no control over anything else and the more I tried to control it the more it spun out of control.

I don't recall when I woke up, but it was not by my own choice and it was not how I would have wanted it to end (let's leave it at I didn't make it). I was kinda creeped, but I figured that it was only a nightmare and shrugged it off yet again.

When I had a third dream I got really freaked. I was in some old abandoned building that looked like a combination between a school and a hospital. Two female nurses were walking to the door and I felt that 'impending doom' sense and tried to yell at them to stop. They turned around and about that time they opened the door, revealing the same monsters that I had in the other dreams. I tried to run, but the more I ran the more of them appeared. I was in the same 'mode' or 'lucid' type sense in that everything I did in the dream I recall attempting to do, but everything else about the dream was completely out of control and yet again the more I tried to control it, the more control I lost. The dream ended the same way with me not making it.


I've had about five of these dreams and each and every time, I can control what I do, but I can't control anything else. These same creatures chase me, they destroy everything, and then I end up not making it at the end of the dream. Nothing works, not imagining being in a safe bubble or even just imagining them being gone. I can't even begin to explain how horrendous these things look, but to get an idea take a look at the movies I mentioned. These things look ten times worse, and yet have resemblances to humans. It's almost like when I look at them, they're ugly and gruesome, but then when I try to control them and the dream, they change and alter, but ultimately I fail and the dream spins more and more out of control.


I haven't gotten a decent sleep for weeks, my eyes are dark underneath almost like I have been bruised there. I'm actually dreading sleep now sometimes because the more I try to control the dreams, the less control I have and more intimidating they become.

Any help? Suggestions?

Look at your wake up routine..

I usually wake up the same time every single day, between 5-6am. I've done so since I was at least 12 or 13, the time getting usually closer to the 5am mark as high school rolled around. I'm in college now (home on break, but getting ready to go back) and I still wake up in that time frame just about everyday. I don't have an alarm set, I don't have the t.v. on, I don't have anything that forces me awake at that time, I simply wake up.

The only difference is occasionally I'll wake up at precisely 3am (I've woken up literally at like 3am countless times, never 2 or 4 or any other time around there that I can remember, always 3) and sometimes I might sleep in until like 8. Generally though, and as the case was for this entire break home from college, I've woken up between 5-6am on my own without anything forcing me awake, it just happens.

Stand your ground.
If your lucid, then you'll realize your just having a nightmare. If willing it away doesn't work then the best thing you can do is just stop and stand there. When you know its a nightmare, you'll also know that nothing can hurt you. So just let the zombies/whatever get you. Usually something unexpected will happen when you do. Like suddenly you'll be somewhere else, or the zombies will become friendly or something weird like that. Or you'll simply wake up, but thats better than being afraid.

As long as you know they can't hurt you because its a dream, then you won't be afraid of them and it will cease to be a nightmare.

Once the nightmares stop, or you convert them then you can try to gain some control. But as long as that fear has a hold on you, you won't be able to control anything because your expectation is that you can't.
