Dream Journal...
How neccessary is it to have a dream journal when trying to develop the ability to LD? I read on wikipedia (or some other page, not sure) that recording one's dreams can help with dream recall; but is this really true? I would imagine that it is the actual act of remembering dreams upon waking which develops the ability to do so; not to much writing them down... but I am probably wrong. Could someone clear this up for me?

Well, keeping a dream journal will embed into your subconscious a desire to remember your dreams upon waking so that you can write them down.
Also, it'll help you recognize common themes and dream signs in your dream, so next time you find yourself doing something you've done in a dream before, you can reality check and get lucid.

You gotta write them down. Everyone says it, but it's true: you might think you'll remember it for sure, but a few minutes or hours go by and it's gone. It's also good to have something to go through and pull out different threads and themes that you see over time in your dreams.
Plus, taking a few minutes to write and describe stuff each morning will help you from a writing/expression standpoint.
That being said, I still get lazy many a morning when I wake up with some dream recall and say to myself that I'll just focus on remembering the dream(s) and that will do the trick.

I started out remembering four or five dreams a week, now I do that every day. DJs help a lot.

Aight, thanks. I'll get one together sometime today I suppose. Thanks again for clearing the issue up for me :)
