everyone's different, some people have amazingly vivid dreams regularly, some hardly ever. You're just one of those people who hardly ever has vivid dreams
Your dreams are not that vivid, or your lucid dreams are not that vivid?
When I started, it was exactly the same situation. And i was not as good at visualisation, But as i recalled the dreams, i started to recognize, that the dreams become more and more vivid overtime.
ANd here would be my explanation to what the problem might be. Our brain tends to give us, what we wish. Still it doesnt make it inmediately. You take your visualisation skills for granted. And thats why you dont care as much for it. There is no reason to get better at it. Now, as you take vividness as problem, you are starting to focus your brain at task: Vividness. But be warned. It really depends on how you tell yourself to increase vividness. Never use the words (I want to ....). Instead use the words (I am starting to... or It is starting to get better(Maybe event better)).
Study subconscious theory further. ANd you will understand why.
both of my dreams and lucid dreams are not vivid :(
Visualisation has little to do with dream recall.
Dreams are conceptual thought. The level of detail in them isn't visual, it's conceptual and depends on your memory, not your visualisation abilities. The less you remember, the less detailed the dreams will seem.
Thus, the way to better recall is training your memory and introspection. Learn to pin-point your thoughts (thus more easily retrieving dream memories from the thoughts in your mind upon awakening) and train your memory (there is a number of ways to do that).
I ALWAYS have so vivid dreams that i almost freak out when i find out its a dream. But its like i almost can feel my real body AND my dreambody.
I dont think, this helped here, but it shows, how different the dream experiences can be. I think you lucid dreams will improve overtime, as your recall improves, so will your dreams.
Tell me. Will it not be superb if you reached vividness? Of course it would. So this is your long term goal. One of the goals which will make you happy improving at.
:D
Do you wake up immediately after a lucid dream? A normal dream? Even five minutes lag time can erase most of the best details.
The reason why your dreams aren't so vivid is because you wrote this post saying that they aren't. Clearly, it has become ingrained into your mind and subconscious that your dreams won't be so vivid. So naturally, they won't be. Just know that they can be if you expect them to be. With this knowledge, like previously mentioned, you could try shouting something to increase vividity. If that doesn't work, maybe you could try some suggestion techniques to rewrite the information already present in your subconscious. If the aforementioned prove unsuccessful, there are already a variety of supplements that could greatly aid in the vividity department of your dreaming.
my dreams are normally super colorful but not always vivid. Thats weird that you get a black and white dream..
97% of my dreams are extremely vivid and always colourful. However some dreams are fuzzy. Sometimes I have extremely vivid dreams where there are certain features, people, or characters that are fuzzy. I always figured there's probably something significant to the fuzzy things in vivid dreams but i normally can never figure them out. Normally the fuzzy dreams are also in slow motion, lol.
My dreams have varying degrees of vividness (I actually keep track of the "vividness" of each dream in my dream journal on a scale of 1 - 5 :D ). But generally, I've noticed that physical excercise tends to increase dream vividness drastically. Vitamin B6 helps, too.
