      Cool RC's Finally Worked For Me

      So a few weeks ago, I finally remembered to perform an RC while in a dream. It was the nose pinch one. The strange thing was I realized I was dreaming but fell back into the dream instead of becoming fully lucid.

      Fast forward to last night. I used autosuggestion before I fell asleep that I would remember to perform an RC and sure enough, I remembered and did the Finger Through Palm RC. It made a werid WOMP noise as my finger went through my hand and as soon as I became lucid, I heard a very eerie childlike laughter behind me and froze in fear. I closed my eyes and sorta fell forward to see what would happen and I ended up floating through darkness for a few seconds before waking up.

      The whole thing was scary but kinda cool. Tonight I hope to stay calm and keep my eyes open for some real lucid fun though. Now a little nugget of knowledge for those who took the time to read this:

      While lucid, if you just stand there and recall memories of your childhood and specific things about how you felt during certain times, it makes certain connections in your mind that allows you to more easily become lucid in the future! Check this site out for more info:

      Congrats on getting lucid, for some reason I never seem to just remember to RC in a dream any more, whenever I MILD I just know I'm dreaming. I wouldv'e thought that if you just stood there remembering things in a lucid dream it would just fade because you're not taking notice of your sense (does that make sense?) but I guess I'll just have to try it for myself

      Everything makes sense once you stop thinking about it

      Congratulations on getting your RCs to work for you.

      I've also visited the site that you reference and I use the memories of my childhood to help strengthen my recall and to keep my mind aware when I try to WILD.

      How long have you been performing RCs, and i.e...

      Really lemme just ask, if you wouldn't mind... Could you possibly describe precisely how you have been doing RCs? As in, frequency, type, and well, how much effort you put into each one... did it feel fake doing them, etc... Maybe this information could help others here... It would DEFINITELY help me. ^^;

      And congratulations, and thanks for the link.

      Hmmn. Interesting point with the childhood memories increasing lucidity.

      However I don't think I'll try it as it would just wake me up.

      that site link is a site you have to pay for right? I think i'll keep trying my luck without paying...but if you could, please describe this childhood memory technique. Do you do this as you begin to wild before you are in the dream, or do you wait until you have a lucid to stand there and remember?

      No you don't have to pay for the information on that site. I dunno how you came to that conclusion.

      Also, I only perform 2 reality checks: The finger through palm and the nose pinch. I just started getting serious about lucid dreaming but I still only do reality checks maybe twice a day.

      Autosuggestion could've been a big part in it too. I simply told myself I would realize I was dreaming and I would perform a realit check. Im usually attempting DEILD and when I started this method, I had 2 MILDs.

      This is the exact article from the website that explains the benefits of recalling memories while lucid:
