Does anyone know of any links describing these or have experience with them? I've read some of his work and am not quite sure if this book would be practical enough to make it worth buying.
I think Magical Passes are movements to help you enter the world of conscious dreaming almost anytime you want.

Which book does Castenada talk about these "magical passes"? I read "The Art of Dreaming" and don't seem to remember anything about it... sounds like these things it could be interesting to read about.

Zimmerman.. the book is called "Magical Passes". There's an awful lot of info in it, much to learn.. it can be very hard work.
Wow.. maybe I will get the book.. Do you know why these movements work? Something to do with "Tensegrity" I suppose?
"Tensegrity" is a (now) generic name for the movements.. I can't tell you why they work.. but they do..
I think the reason why one can't remember anything of those books,or very little is because, while reading one's assamblage point slightly shifts.One has to bring it back to that position to remember.Quote:

Now I have no excuse... and nelida, do you really feel the difference if you recapitulate?
Do you, for instance, recapitulate at night all the things you've done during day? Or you do that thing of remembering all the interactions you've had with people, one by one?
what do you mean by recapitulating exactly? And Polmc.. could you go on about recalling the interactions you've had with people throughout the day? I've been trying to R.C. every person I encounter and then I go through the list of people I encountered in my dreams as well.. People really seem to be the best reality check as anyone's reality impacts your own reality so much.
TalkingHead. Im no guru but I can explain you what I know about recapitulation.
It is like a meditation in which breathing is the key point. You must visualize and feel as if you were in the interactions you've had. Imagine the environment and what you felt. You move your head side to side (in a sitting position), and when you are visualizing, you breathe in the energy you've lost, for instance, in a discussion with your partner. Then as you move your head to the right you breathe out the negative part or the energy which doesn't belong to you.
As you say, aside from the purpose given by Castaneda (which is to save energy for things like LDing and to stalk your stupid attitudes), it also improves your recall amazingly...
At the beginning its not easy to remember all day's interactions... but you get it with practice.. have in mind that the long-term goal is to have recapitulated all your life! :P
yes, ı do feel the difference.I was not recapping for months and ı wasn't having any LD's. Then I recapped especially about someone who intentionally tried to make me mad ,sad,etc (and who succeeded at that) .I recapped for 45 min.'s. That night I had a LD since months. Next day I continued recapping the same person because I hadn't finished all the events we had together. That night I had another LD.Quote:

Well that sounds convincing, I'm gonna start doing it more often since I'm having too few LDs lately!
