Seduced by the dark side

I was watching Star Wars over the weekend and an interesting analogy came to mind.

Consider how Tibetan monks use lucid dreaming. Fundamentally, the main goal is to eliminate negative karmic threads to move closer to the true nature of the human mind. Ultimately this training helps in the bardos of death - to facilitate a reincarnation to a more advanced and satisfying next life.

What do I use lucid dreaming for:

- Flying
- Walking through space/time portals
- Sex

All kidding aside, I feel somewhat seduced by what I'll call the dark side of LDing.

Anyone else ever feel like pure entertainment is somewhat wasting your LD talents ... that maybe we should direct our attention to loftier goals.

Anyway, just thought the topic might resonate with some of you.

I'm planning a threesome w/ two bisexual girls for my 200th LD. Maybe after that ...:)

The dark side is you in a sense...its your subconcious mind relaxing itself by letting out emotions...

sex ain't a bad thing...unless your, uh...anti-sexualityness? er...okay whatever..

LDs are meant to be fun, i can get where your going w/ this possession but w/o the "dark occultist desires" (lol) the threesome w/ bisexual girls wouldn't happen

On that topic...i almost did, they were redheads too...forgot to RC then i got hit w/ a false awakening...thought it was an OBE..i was looking at myself sleeping and obviously pulled a "holy shit! is that me?!" then i woke up...:eek:

I do see where you coming from...sort of, in a twisted sense huh?

Using dreams in this manner almost seems selfish, but I see entertainment as a far more pure endeavor than other lucid dreaming applications (satisfaction of the urge to kill, rape, etc.).

But what exactly are "loftier goals?" Is there really some higher purpose that can only be realized through lucid dreaming? As of yet, I can only agree that lucid dreaming tends to confirm the subjectivity of the human experience (dreams can be as real as real life).
