I just can't get it...
Ok guys, I have been trying to lucid dream well over a year now, and have only had 3 lucid dreams. (Which were caused by accident mostly, and 2 of them lasted literally 10 seconds)
I have tried DILD, MILD, WILD, FILD, and WBTB multiple times, I keep a dream journal (I still only remember 2-3 dreams a night however...) and have even tried moving to different rooms to try lucid dreaming. Why is it that I just cannot get it? With reality checks for DILDs, i have tried doing them every half hour, and got into a habbit. (that lasted about 1-2 months and I had 1 lucid dream by accident, didn't even do a reality check) Then I tried being more aware of my surroundings and whenever I saw something out of the ordinary, or felt a little dazed or tired, I would do a reality check. That didn't work either.
I have also tried various tutorials from top to bottom and I never seem to get results...
For chemicals, pills, etc. I am not permitted to use those, so that is out of the question. But if you guys have any advice for me, that would be amazing.

You can't take B6 or anything? It's only a vitamin...
You might need to just take a little break for a few days and just stop thinking about it entirely. You could also read LaBerge's book just for the lucid experiences he has in there. I find them very inspirational, and they just trigger LDs for me if I read them before bed!

:shock:Wow dude that sucks... It sounds to me like your doing everything right. First off tell me how your wilds go, do you fall asleep or just give up, have you ever hit sp or what? And second off maybe if you stopped trying so hard, they might come easier to you. I'm reading a book that said there is a law of contradicting intention. Where when you really really try to do or not to do something you end up doing the exact opposite of what you wanted to do. Like if I asked you to walk across a two by four on the gound vs. on top of a 50 storie building. The same thing applies to lucid dreaming.

Stop trying to lucid dream. Start learning to dream.
A very common mistake that people make is that they put all their intentions on lucid dreaming, to the extend that they aren't actually paying much attention to their regular dreams at all anymore, or simply dismiss them as 'failures', 'uninteresting', 'boring', etc etc.
A "lucid dream" is a type of dream however. So you have to work on the basis first. A good analogy is trying to run. Before you can learn to run, you need to learn to walk first. If you don't, you just end up going flat on your face every single time.
So learn about your dreams first. Learn to remember them, learn to appreciate them, learn the particular elements of them. Come to understand and get familiar with your nightly adventures. Learn to dream, before you learn to lucid dream.

Nope. :( My mom is real cautious about taking "extra doses" of anything like that. Though I cannot figure out why, but in my family, mom's and dad's word is law. As for me to stop trying to lucid dream, maybe I should try that. Guess I will put it aside for a week or two, though it is going to be tough... heh.

Yeah, tell me about it. O_o As for my WILD's, I end up giving up. But not after attempting one for a minimum of 45 min. Also, I usually get to the point where I start hearing sounds, that is the farthest I have ever gotten. I try not to focus on it too much, because I read to avoid thinking of WILDing, and just keep you mind awake. I usually start hearing sounds, then it sorta all just fades away and I am perfectly awake again.
As for trying too hard, that could also be it. I might take Mes Tarrant's suggestion and stop trying for a few weeks just to re-adjust and re-focus. :)

Hm... you are right about the normal dream part. I have been considering them "failures"... (though far from boring, last night I had the hardest time trying to ride an extremely unbalanced Harley. O_o)
I guess I will give up lucid dreaming for a bit, and just focus on my normal dreams. Thanks allot for the help. :)
