Self awareness!
Could you please elaborate?...
Yes, please do.
Can you say pretty please? LOL :D
Isn't self awareness what lucidity is?
Yes it is, but that is definetely not the ultimate goal.
If it isn’t self awareness,… what is it that we are all searching for?
What do we hope to gain? Will it make us better people?
Will it make the world a better place for others?
In my philosophy, the starting point and the finishing point are the same.
I am open and curious to the views of others though,… and I apologize if I come off as sounding harsh, obstinate or close minded.
I am not a religious man...
When one realizes one’s “true self“,… one also realizes that we are all ONE.
OM Mani Padme Hum
Lucid dreaming can help by breaking down preconceived ideas about reality, consciousness and self awareness.
I am now labeling you as a deep thinker.Quote:

im not looking for answers when im dreaming but a place were I have complete control, thats what i want to gain.
I know I lucid dream because its the ultimate freedom. THERE ARE NO RULES!!!!!!!
How sweet is that!
My 3 cents
Lucid dreams are great experiences, perhaps the ultimate experiences. However, they are only temporary...
I guess I need something more,… something lasting that I can bring back with me,… something I can keep from my lucid experiences…
I lucid dream because I want to do something fun is those 22 years of your life that people waste. I do not have any deep questions about myself that I need answered, I lucid dream purely for the fun, and for talking about my experiences with other dreamers.
If I might be so bold as to suggest this,… here’s something that goes along with what I’m trying to say...
Universal Myth and “The Hero with a Thousand Faces“:

I’m sure there are other factors involved,… but, Once I accepted “The Call” to adventure, and went in search of my “Boon”, the frequency and intensity of my lucid dreaming shot through the roof!
I highly recommend it.
When don't you have absolute FUN, FREEDOM and CONTROL? :boogie:
i think this is a great idea for motivation but out of curiosity, what exactly are you looking for?Quote:

Boon???
I certaintly know that I'm not lucid dreaming for OP's reason. I just do it because it's cool, and it's fun.
My current goal, to lucid dream at will.
Beyond that I'll just follow where it takes me. I have a few ideas of where I might like to go but I'm leaving it all open. I'll go where ever my mind takes me and hope that I find my own way instead of treading already worn paths.
I had my first lucid dream back in 1973, when I was 15 years old. I accidentally DILD (dialed) in. :) It was shortly after I started practicing Kundalini yoga, meditation, and mind control. I've had hundreds and hundreds of LDs since then,... which are getting more frequent and intense.
I don't really feel like I've found my "boon" yet, although I do feel like I'm getting closer. It gives me something to shoot for... :)
