There sure are alot of WBTB enthusiasts in here

Is it really that effective? I haven't tried it yet but I know if I wake up and stay up for too long after as much as six hours sleep I would probably struggle to get back to sleep, especially if I stayed up for 90 minutes.
Does it work if you get up after 4 hours sleep for 30 mins? if I did this I know I could go back to sleep.

but seriosuly it is the easiest method to unduce a lucid dream and helps jump start all of your lucid dreaming. Or it did for me nayways.

Im telling you 90 minutes is best..if you cant sleep...60. But the lcoser to 90 minutes you stay up the better chance of gaining lucidity when youre asleep. Read the tutoral on WBTB.(I gotta plug my method....scroll down the Gameovers tutorial) But the whole tutorial is quite informative.

WIth WBTB you can plan your lucid dreaming experience. GOod luck. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

agreed gameover. I've only been experimenting with the WBTB method, but it is the easiest and best method which works for ME. every method works differently for different people. I for one absolutely SUCK at MILD and visualizing. Try it for a whole week straight and see how it works.

you sound like me. I have lots of trouble getting to sleep sometimes(i've been thinking of buying melotonin to help me fall asleep)(buy pills if you need to, only last resort though). sorry but you're just going to have to suck it up if you have trouble falling asleep. i guess you can stay asleep for 4 hours and then do it, but then you got two more hours of non-rem sleep i believe, but i really recommend 5-6. only 30 minutes? that's not really a lot and dont be surprised if you dont have any results. especially since you want to wake up after 4 hours. 90 minutes is the best amount of time. if you cant fall asleep try meditating or some other technique to help you fall asleep. i believe there's a topic around somewhere called Insomnia. there's a lot of helpful hints in there.

ok im done, im going back to bed to do the WBTB method now....sqwiggy will probably be the next person to preech to you

I could probably stump up for 5 hours sleep if I went to bed early enough. Trouble is though in my house I have kids who get up fairly early so If i get up too early and stay up for ninety mins I may not get that much sleep in after that. I would need to go to bed at about 10pm get up at 3am stay up till 4.30am then go back to sleep. I am not usually very tired at 10pm though.

Do you time the 5/6 hours after the time you go to bed or the time you get to sleep?

I guess if I did 6 hours from 10pm I could still get back to bed for 5.30am, even my kids don't get up that early so I could prob get enough sleep in after that.

Doesn't it make you tired all day though waking up in the middle of your sleep cycle every night?

well say i go to bed at 10 for example and i lay there for about an hour. maybe more. I would then adjust my clock to wake me up at the appropiate time. I would only do this though if i was awake for an hour.

to be honest, a little. for some reason the tiredness goes away during the night and then i have trouble falling asleep again.

sorry to hear that about the kids. dont worry though. the older they get, the later they wake up

(I'm gonna make WBTB look worse now, because I'm good at making everything look bad. I mean, all I have to do is be there and suddenly 200% worse than it was a minute ago).

Anyway, WBTB dosen't work for me. Yeah. Great huh.

If its hard to fall asleep after staying up for a while try staying up for less of the time. LIke 20 - 30 minutes. The times vary for everyone. I tried 60 minutes last night but I had really short Lucid dreams. Im gonna continue 60 minutes for a couple of nights and then switch to 90 minutes and see how that works for me. I think for me staying up for a short time works best for me.

      Good Luck!!!

I've LD'd for a long time, but never tried inducing them myself until 5 days ago. I've been using WBTB, and every night since then it's worked.. today it gave me 3 LD's. The first few days I had about 5.5 - 6 hours of sleep with about an hour of wake time, but last night I tried 5 hours and only 30 minutes of wake time, and it worked fine. Also, I don't feel any more tired than I normally do throughout the day. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried.

I really like the WBTB method - and so far Ive never fully tried it! I usually get up at about 5 30 after going to bed at 10-30 and listen to music or read a lil bit. Maybe for five minutes. Then I sleep, and I can tell when I slip into a Lucid Dream. More like Hargart's Method.

I find that Im even more energetic during the day! Kind of like when you wake up early in the morning and you splash water on yourself, it really wakes you up. When I do WBTB, when it's time to get up to go to life, I feel like Im already up.

Well, I speaking from my experience, I went from having LD's very rarely and for only a minute each, to having several every week. It's the easiest way to induce a lucid dream...for me..and apparently lots of others are having success with it to. Its improved my WILD's and DILD's and has thrown me into the world of lucid dreaming. Thats the big hype. Thats where its coming from.
