Sound In Lucid Dreams
I've always wondered how, exactly, we can hear and comprehend sound and speech in dreams, even though we are not hearing anything when we are sleeping? How does our brain accurtely re-create speech, even with people's unique voices in dreams? In my lucid dreams, I have not really paid much attention to how speech actually sounds, by paying close attention to it. Maybe if we did that, it would sound less real, like when we look at an object in a dream, and just scan it, it looks real, but when we examine it, the object moves, because your brain cannot keep an image steady.

It's based on memory, I guess, and I also assume it works the same way as any other senses we feel in dreams. When I have dreams that are not very vivid, sounds and voices sound a bit muffled.

I was actually going to say the same as Luminous actually. It's all based on memory of sounds ect.
I've never really payed much attention to the sound in my lucids or dreams for that matter. However the general sound is quite clear although time times in less vivid dreams I do get "muffled" sounds where I know what people are saying just can't hear it.
