Seeing a mix of dream and real life?

Is it possible to see your room and your dream, overlapped? A few weeks ago I dreamed that I had a lucid dream (so I wasn't actually lucid). Near the end of it, my dream world and my dream-in-a-dream world overlapped. Then there was some bright flashes of light and I was out of my dream-in-a-dream and back into a regular dream. Also, recently in my first lucid dream, I remember trying to see my actual human non-dream body from inside my dream and I could kind of see it. I'm not sure if I imagined it or what, but I could see my body.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question being I haven't had my own lucid dream yet
But what happened to you is awesome

Were you waking up when you saw this? Some people describe imags from their dreams sort of lingering when they first wake up, so it's possible that you saw things from your dream and reality at the same time. On the other hand, you may just have seen your dream-body and thought that you were really seeing.

How's that for a definitive answer? Sorry, it's kind of hard to tell; with experience some of these strange things become more clear as to what is really going on.

In the second dream I described, it was like a picture of my body (laying down from the view of my head) pasted onto my vision, like a HUD in a first person shooter video game.

During a couple of LDs, for whatever reason I've cracked open an eye and seen both the LD and the wall of my bedroom in splitscreen. They weren't overlapping though, so I'm not sure if that's possible or not.

I've had something like this happen to me. I closed my eyes in an LD and I saw blackness(as it should have been, because I was closing my eyes) and I saw my room sort of overlapping the blackness and shimmering in and out of view. It was pretty awesome.

This has happened to me before.
I opened my left eye while in an LD and could see both my dream hands and the wall of my bedroom at the same time. I closed my eyes again and tried to go back to the dream. It continued for a short while but went all weird and I had no body. Then I opened both my eyes and could see a text menu overlay on my real vision, like something in a video game. It faded after about a second and I was awake for good.
