What do you do when you start seeing hypnagogic images? Do you try to see yourself in them ? And for somone who can reach the point of HI at will could they become a good lucid dreamer? And also how the heck do you stay calm during these HI they get me every time im alway's like wtf was that lol.

Once I go to bed: I don't really do much when I see them, I just watch them idly. When I see them in the morning (when I can sleep in), I'll use them as an entrance to a dream (WILD). HIs can be very useful for attaining lucid dreams, by using them to enter a dream, based on the hypnagogic image. I think there is a WILD tutorial around here somewhere on how to use HIs for WILDs, but I don't know which one...

It is possible to "choose" your HIs, but they will usually be unstable. For me, it's easier to choose my HIs when I'm deeper into the hypnagogic state, and close to dreaming. I believe this is a skill that can be learned. :)
