Thread: what's your RC

I use several:

Hand check - make sure all my digits are in the right place.
Clock check - Make sure it says "9:30" instead of "Pizza Pie"
Airway check - close off the air path via shutting the epiglottis and testing to see if I breath.
Whistle check - Odd, but you can't whistle in dreams, at least from what I've read.

Nose RC - breath with your nose held tight.
Hand check- count your fingers.
Hand check penetration- try to put a finger through your hand

I do these at least 20 times a day I would say.

I only do the Nose RC. It doesn't lie.

I probably average about 4-5 RCs per day.

Mine is the hand check.

most often handcheck, but i use some others to.
Like if i know that i'm going to turn of the light, i just notice that and then make sure that i'm awake.
Same if i check the time, throwing a rubber to a classmate and so on.
Don't know why i keep useing the hand rc. It let me down to many times

Mine is my super-sequit technique, the DDILD method. It has never failed.

The best rc EVER:

Every time you are about to open a door, visualize a bunch of really hot girls on the other side. When it fails, you win!

Same. but i hold my breath too.

I pinch my arm. I do it 10-15 times a day.

I look down at my hands & see if they're blurry or not. It's worked the one & only time I've used it so far. I try & do it about 20 times a day at least, depending on how busy I am.

no kidding, i once accidentliy did a Pee RC (it felt like i was peeing but nothing came out), i went lucid for a few secs that was like, WAKE UP AND CHECK THE SHEETS! lol, no mess, but i dont recommend this

I look at my hands.

The first time I saw my hands in an LD I was terrified. They looked like uncontrollable fingers which became transparent with the light as I rotated my wrists.

Ever since that, my hands became my RC.

I do a memory check.

What kind of memory checks?

Try to stick my finger through my hand.

Nosepinching monstly, sometimes watch RC, rarely finger-counting RC.

If I get really suspiscious I'll do them in that order.

Why does no one do the arm pinching one anymore?

Well that's something new.


I use:
The nose plug
Attempt to levitate
Bite through my finger
(one I picked up in dream)

I use the finger through palm one. It's less noticable when doing it in public. I'd rather people see my touching my hand then plugging my nose and trying to breathe

Nothing wrong with people seeing you do the nose plug method.
So passers by will think you're insinuating that they smell, or they may think you're crazy. Either way they'll likely leave you lots of precious personal space.

I do the finger through palm check, the hand check and the try to fly check.

Unfortunately, they seem to fail more than they work.

I've done the pinched nose check a lot in waking life, but never thought about doing it in a dream. I check my watch a lot in waking life too, but I've never noticed myself wearing a watch in any dreams, even though I've worn one for years.

I barely ever do RC's anymore because when I become lucid I usually don't need to check. Still, if I'm in the mood I do a nose pinch.

i attempt a backflip. if i land on my noggin and it really hurts, i'm probably not dreaming.
