This is somthing i have been wondering about for a while, i think it might be possable to stay awake or aware that your there the whole night if you practice enough... while still getting good rest.
is this totally impossible, or would it just take a lot of will?
(i have as much time as i need since it's summer)

I think what you might be getting at is Tibetan dream yoga i got a book on it the other day as part of one of those amazon deal things.
I have a feeling it might take longer than a summer to lern tho :-)

I had a couple of experiences with heightened awareness through the night. Kinda like I know it's all a dream, but I just observe and follow it. At some point I decided to become lucid and I did...
But it was very shallow dream, and at some point I could feel my body.
So I doubt you'll get a good rest. :/
I think i'm going to for the next few weeks try and see how long after i go to bed i can stay awake... i usually get wandering thoughs and just kinda lose hold but if i try i' am sure i'll be able to get somewhere...

That is essentially what trance meditation is. You are awake, but your body is asleep.Quote:

i tryed and somehow got somthing working... it's freaky
somehow i have my mom's glasses and she show's me things and allways wants them back but if i keep them i can hold onto them i will not lose it and i will be able to live the rest of my life like this it's insane but ill make it wow is all i can say i have a will that is very big...

Yes you can. You should read Robert Moss' books, Conscious Dreaming and Dreamgates. They tell you everything.
my sentences might not be coherent because i'm not getting as much rest as i used to when i would sleep, but i still like this over other things and i will get better the longer i do this i belive.
