Apparently, my friend told me that if you cut off the circulation to your arm(i.e. lying on your back with your arm under your back or laying your head on the bicep) can make you dream... is this true?! much appreciated

haha that kind of makes me laugh lol but i dont know if its true or not
Welcome to Dream Views, Legend.
I've never heard that before, but I guess it could be true. I can't really imagine why it would work, but I've heard stranger things scoring people a lucid dream.
If I were you, I would stick to more tried and true techniques that don't involve reducing healthy blood flow.
This reminds me of my friend. In High School, she would put a rubber band around her arm to cut off the circulation until she had no feeling in her hand. Then she would use that had for.... certain highly personal activities. Cutting off your circulation on purpose does not sound healthy to me, but who am I to judge?
I've never heard that. It doesn't sound wise to cut off circulation and then go to sleep, though. I'd prefer my arm over a lucid dream, any day.
If you're just sleeping on it funny... I don't recall ever having a dream specifically because I'd done that, and never a lucid dream. Usually I just wake up and it sucks because my arm is asleep and prickles.
haha......ewww.
now to the question at hand. (is that a pun? i don't know.)well you said it makes you dream? you always dream when you sleep. if you sleep on one arm while standing on one foot upside down you will dream just because you are sleeping. if you mean it can induce a lucid dream, then maybe. i sleep on my side and i sometimes accidentally cut off circulation to my arm, but i haven't become lucid from it.
and :welcome:
Haha ive never heard this before
though i have woken up frequently and my arms been totally devoid of feeling and it didnt seem like it really "induced" more dreams but uhh maybe?
I just thought of something. I wonder if your friend maybe just misinterpreted something they read.
It sounds like this could be a misinterpretation of Sleep Paralysis. SP is where your whole body is numb and paralyzed. This has nothing to do with lack of circulation. It happens every night naturally so you don't thrash around in your dreams. I can see the two being confused. Waking up with your arm numb because you slept on it, or waking up with your whole body numb from SP.
Sleep Paralysis can lead to lucid dreams, and you will find a lot of information on it here.
