Is it possible to have a WILD when you first go to sleep? By that I mean going to sleep without and prior sleep during the day.
Also, do you have REM cycles in naps during the day? Is it possible to have a lucid dream during a nap?

To answer your first question: As far as I know, it's possible but much, much harder than WILDing during WBTB or something similar.
I'm not sure about the second question. I think it may depend on what time during the day the nap takes place in.
Anyone else?
I was just reading someone's dream journal... forgotten who now... one of the recent posts anyway... and they had just recorded a nap lucid I think... lemme go back and check...

I've only ever pulled off WILDs during some kind of WBTB, either early morning, or during an afternoon nap (which I so enjoy!). I think it's generally easier if you use WBTB, mainly because there's more REM activity towards the end of the night's sleep.
WILDing is possible in an afternoon nap, actually, that's when many people do it, because you usually go straight into REM sleep.
WILDing is also possible without WBTB, but it is very difficult to achieve, and the dream will probably be short if it's on one of the early stages of sleep, it would take a long time to get into REM sleep.
